I appreciate what you are doing and I'd love to see more videos like this! 2 facts need correction: The uniform was not based on the Mafeking Cadets, but on BP's South African Constabulary. Also, "Aids to Scouting" was written for "NCO's and MEN" and definitely NOT for youth. However, it was adopted, with great surprise to BP, by the Boys Brigade and other youth organizations to use with their youth. THEN BP started to think...and he wrote "Scouting for Boys" in order to give something more appropriate and less military-oriented to Boys.

Interesting! Cool that at first he wanted to aid existing youth groups (like the BB). You sound English, but it's corps, (core) not corpse, and Lieutenant, not lootenant. ;-)
