Pally's my absolute favourite class to play too, usually kit him with a piercing/scoped geth pulse rifle for accurately applying cryo ammo from long range, and a geth scanner to know when to snap freeze through walls, but admittedly I've never gotten into platinum difficulty; ~95% of my ~10,100 matches were bronze and just mugging the enemies for their lunch money.

First time I tried this guy he didn't sit well with me because I didn't have a good build and really didn't know how to play him. But now I made this build, been playing him for few days and wow he is so amazing and OP and fun to play. and no more paranoia of phantoms just slapping them around is so fun :) I think he just overtook EDI as my fave class.

I love the N7 Paladin. Probably my favorite character. I usually go 6/4/6/6/4 with radius on incinerate and durability on shield mastery with the piranha with extended barrel and smart choke and armor piercing rounds. Also I usually just snap freeze phantoms and then use energy drain to kill her with the cryo explosion. It kills 75% but it always staggers. Good vid as always.

I've got tons of SMG and Pistol amps and not enough AR and Shotgun amps. I was tired of using biotics to try and build up my other amps with JEPs. Glad I found this. I haven't touched the Paladin in forever. Just what I needed to spice things up a bit.

I have been running a 6/4/6/4/6 I believe. I am not actually on this very second, but it's been a great build. But you're right, there is so many spec's into these kits that it just is awesome to try new things out. For example I hated the GI with Fitness, but I cannot live without him now that he has none. I definitely am going to give this build a shot, it's more suited for the style I have been playing my build anyway. Thanks for the advice and another great video man.

I skipped Energy Drain for my Plat runs with him. I was wary but did well. The trick was to run with other tech users and to Snap Freeze all day with some Incinerates when needed. It's insane since the patch or update or whatever that changed the tech combos. 'Splosions! 'Splosions everywhere! :D

that was insanely good strategy, thats gonna be a big help for me. i just recently heard about this class and the n7 slayer and just recently unlocked both...my turian sentinel is so much better with the build you provided, just gotta unlock some better gear and weapons. then i'll feel comfortable during platinum. i play on xbox btw Phoenix Remnant usually on early morning or late nights

heh, got my Hurricane 8 today... you jelly? :-P Good gameplay vid, if you do end up doing a Speedrun tutorial video/series, I always wished someone would do an abbreviated video segment for each role. Like, 3 minutes each for Basement, Hallway, and Balcony if you were doing Glacier. You can piece it together from various speedrun videos out there, but I've never seen it all in one vid.

If anyone is watching this today don’t go tech combo on snap freeze. The power gets that ability automatically so that rank does nothing.

my build is 5/6/6/4/5. i usually use energy drain to either bring up my shields or strip the shields from Geth Hunters or Phantoms. when i'm fighting Cerberus and Phantoms show up i strip their barriers then i put down my shield and wait for them to get close then i wail on them with my shield. i specced Incinerate for cryo explosions and Snap Freeze for dmg. i save the cryo explosions for units like Brutes, Scions, Banshees, etc. i use the Mantis X with extended barrel V and piercing mod 3.

You could also leave Shield Drain at 3 and use it to recharge your shields only while spamming both Snap Freeze and Incinerate, so you can max your Fitness.

I have never skipped N7 Mastery, but I am going to give this a shot. I have been absolutely loving this character, but only have four points into Incinerate, so I am going to try this out. It's been unbelievably easy to score 100k+ with this character on Gold consistently. Also, are you adding people on PS3? It'd be awesome to play together sometime!

6/6/6/5/3 weapons is a great build for just getting out the damage, but if you feel like you're taking alot of hits and going down quick, try a 6/6/6/4/4 with power and capacity and some extra health and shields. Since techsplosion deal huge damage, having an extra fast recharge can really save you, even if it's just half a second. A good weapon for this build is the scimitar shotgun with smart choke and high velocity barrel. throw on incendiary rounds, throw out snap freeze, roll in the points

First time this character came out, I didn't understand him, I Kept trying to melee and he was failing. But I set him up so cryo explosions, fire explosions, and tech bursts happen almost everytime I use a power.

Power combos are the only thing that escalates with difficulty. They are more powerful in Platinum than Bronze, so the only way to be effective in harder difficulties is to prime and detonate as many power combos as you can. Snap Freeze can prime Cryo Explosions in any type of defense, very often and through walls. I think a team of Paladins freezing and chilling with Snap Freeze and Slayers detonating Cryo Explosions with Biotic Slash (also works through walls) would do great damage without risking themselves to enemy fire. One guy could have Geth Scanners to see what's behind walls. It's very useful with the Paladin. I use it all the time.

I usually take a 60666 build with him, ignoring incinerate. I play him as a melee oriented character, using a fire shield to smack an enemy then snap freeze to blow their asses up. If I get into a bad situation I can just throw down my shield and either use a spec ops pack, ED a shielded enemy, or wait a few seconds for my shields to recharge. I do get downed quite a bit on the later waves like this but I'll be damned if I ain't taking half the enemies with me. I haven't tried this on platinum, I usually play gold with him.

In Rank 4 you should go with Melee instead of Durability, Rank 5 go health and 6 go Frost... if you snap freeze and then shield bash they either shatter or on bosses you can weaken armor upto 60% and its not buggy... I use him ALOT!!!! it Stacks... Also you can setup explosions with either incenerate and cryo shield or snap freeze and fire shield...

the tech combo on snap freeze DOES NOT WORK. always go for damage and weakness, it helps your team out a lot as a debuff

Nice gameplay. Love the Paladin. Haven't tried him on Plat, but I've ran him on Gold several times with a lot of success. If you have an Engineer with Chain Overload follow you around, you get insane amounts of Cryo Explosions. How come you Ops Packed at 9:38? You had full health/shields.

So far, from my experience, you can only set up cryo-explosions with energy drain if the target has shields/barriers up, or is a synthetic. This guy is an absolute monster vs. Geth.

Same for fire- a shield/barrier will hold the fire or cryo effect that energy drain can then pop, but if the shield goes first a primer needs to be reapplied to them and then I find drain *might* detonate frozen enemies, but rarely burning ones. Still, touchiness aside, Pally's my favourite for all the explosions.

READ THIS: The Rank 6 Tech Combo evo on Snap Freeze for the Paladin is bugged, if you get the Reach evo on Rank 4, you autmatically have it. So if you get 4b, NEVER get 6b. Just putting out this helpful tip. I found this on a thread on BSN..

I dunno if they fixed FreezeCombo in the way you think. Snap Freeze + Incin always results in a ice explosion regardless of whether you got FreezeCombo, just like Incin + SF always results in fire explosions. What Freeze Combo is SUPPOSED to do is do 2X dmg to targets who are frozen, even when you use Cyro Ammo or Cyro Blast. Not necessarily a Tech Burst just straight up more DPS. Last time I read the forums, last month, it seems it works on Armor/Shields/Barrier but not health

(5/6/6/3/6) nice alternative to the 6/6/6/0/6 build that one compared to all the other builds ive seen here. i dont understand y ppl are opting to skip fire/cryo shield. it is your most reliable primer. if you wanna do decent damage you cannot skip it juss like you cant skip 6th evo on incinerate and snap freeze ppl.

since i have the Mantis set up like that it does as much damage as the Javelin and still be light. i'd put the sniper rifle high-velocity barrel on it but i don't have that yet. i tried it with the Hurricane but it didn't feel right so i put the Mantis on and i've been trolling ever since.

When can we expact the detonation bug to be fixed? I mean if I set up an explosion with distuptor or other ammo the explosion happens at my paladin not at the enemy and that is pretty much useless.

I was surprised you didn't recommend the Cryo shield, it weakens armour by 50%. Combine that with Snap Freeze for 100% debuff. This video has been around a while so would you still use the same build. Also how does he play without the passives, are the explosions still as powerful.

What would you say about taking paladin n7 and shield mastery up to level 4 for damage and capacity-durability respectively? Or maybe 6/6/6/5/3 (taking the damage bonus to weapons) since I dont use the melee shield a lot and I figured energy drain should keep my shields up for most of the match if I use it well.. btw I'm new with the paladin so I'm open to suggestions and if I'm screwing up the character for gold and platinum matches please let me know lol. I need to clear this up. You get the N7 Paladin's Tech Combo for Snap Freeze with reach automatically - but for Cryo Explosions ONLY, so instead take the top evolution for HIS Snap Freeze.. The AIU's Snap Freeze isn't glitched, so taking Tech Combo is a must. Specking out of his passives greatly decreases the amount of damage he does as only Rank 4 in his fitness gives him actual fitness and the last evolution is for the shield. If you want to run the fire shield and run all powers, speck into Incinerate up to 3 or 4, and rank 6 of his passives for it; you can also completely speck out of incinerate.

i just can't understand him, is flimsy and the damage is ridiculous low...i tryed this built but the dps was too low without passive and dispite the fact that i totally skip it i was always down. btw i'm not really sure of the sixth rank of energy drain work properly cause i've been oneshotted right after use it more then once, and honestly be shotted with full shields and with a 40% damage reduction is a fucking joke. This can be not so bad on a salarian that stay away from the caos but for this guy in the middle of the fight is just unplayable. The shield as defense imho is pretty useless since if u are in trouble i prefer hide somewhere instead to stand like a moron where i am waiting while enemies get near. As melee is pretty cool. Overall anyway the thing i found rly annoying is the need to switch weapon constantly and i just panic when i face mixed enemies like phantom (acolyte) and dragoon (smg) or geth hunter and pyro... what's suppose to do in that case? The only thing i found cool on this char is that he prime everything

A couple thoughts: if you spam cryosplosions, the damage can be quite legit. And regarding swapping weapons, I highly recommend you give the talon a try. Talon deals legit damage, but gets a damage bonus against shields/barriers. Hence it's great at both armor and shields

I dont max shield for this character, ever since they introduced the update for power explosions, I max all 3 power, works like magic. But it is nice, so many options this one.
