When I was a kid, I watched the men in my mom's life beat her like she was a man. Sometimes a neighbor would call the law, cops would come, check that mom was alive and tell him to go take a walk and cool off. That’s it. He would leave, the cops would leave, and he’d be right back. That said, I couldn’t be happier that law enforcement is taking DV and ST so seriously because it IS serious business! And it can really mess with a kids mind.
