My favorite Maiden song, & likely my favorite song in general! As a kid when the album was new loved listening to this from Piwerslave or Live after Death driving around in the back of my step-dad's Camaro with a sound system (for the day). Maiden really fueled, my live for history, poetry, & even science fiction as I always researched their lyrics this was well before Google.

I think one should not care about chords in a song that was composed random, just to gratify ears. I seriously doubt Steve cared about the notes he played when he composed it. You can find notes (A,C#,F => A+ chord) etc. but just enjoy the ambiance and forget the rest, more pleasant to play that way. Thanks for your question anyway. DG

Salut.

Man, you did it great. As a former guitarrist, (who used to try and fingerpick bass lines on an acoustic guitar) I see two major difficulties to play the bass lines of this song. The first one is to keep the gallop going well during the whole track. The second is to keep the slow part of the track on the beat (those #5 chords). You showed true endurance to sustain the alternate fingerpicking on your right hand and yet making the bass line sounding great. Steve Harris was a fucking animal on his bass, and yet sounded so melodical. Thumbs up, man! Cheers, from Goiânia-GO/Brazil.

DG

Awesome performance as ever, Didi! Just if I can give you some constructive feedback, at the 5.30 minute arpeggio try to "jump" the fingers from one fret to another instead of sliding keeping pressed to the strings to avoid this annoying "SHRRRIECKKKK" sound when fingers slides across the strings. Honestly, 30 years ago I known nothing about Stevie's bass rig and I played with rounded Daddario or Fender strings too, but now I think that flat strings could minimize that sliding noise
