The West Bengal police and reporters should stop citing bows and arrows as a weapon of mass destruction. How idiotic is that? 95% people in Darjeeling are farmers, hence they use sickles. Bows and arrows are an vital part of sports in Darjeeling, extremely popular there. Kukhuri is kept everywhere at home, as it is a sign of Gurkha culture. So please stop making it enormously big issues, those are not bombs, grenades and suicide vests as used in Kashmir. Its just a sport and villager's part of life. We are asking for an independent state of a great Indian nation, and not fighting for separation from the country like Kashmiris are. We are doing this, only because we have nothing in common with Bengolis, be it language, culture, tradition and ways of life. Jai Gorkhaland! JAI HIND!

Now Its a complete and utter lack of respect and understanding of other's culture (from Bengolis) - the main core reason behind demand for Gorkhaland. We're always treated with hated eyes, called foreigners, make fun of our languages and life. Now trying to choke Bengalis in our throat is a dead end step. No more taking what comes may. Its like asking Punjabis to be govern by Marathis. And asking Telugu to be governed by Rajasthani. Language is not the issue. In West Bengal, there are Marwari, Chinese, Armenians, Oriyas, Biharis. Thus, Bengali is always an optional language, it is not compulsory. if they can learn Hindi, they can learn Bengali within a few months. Gurkhas are Nepalese. They have to go back to Nepal, as Bhutan expelled them. They have taken over Sikkim, now they want to take over the North Bengal. Tomorrow they will want to take over Himachal Pradesh.

Mithilesh Verma, are you one of those people who think the British made India better? Being multicultural is a part of us, we have learned to accept all cultures, religions and live peacefully among ourselves since childhood. Our food habits show how intermingled we are, yes we also cook and eat Bengali food and like it a lot. Asking for the state of Gorkhaland does not destroy the multicultural environment of our place, we have no fight within us, we just need self governance because we are sick of being treated as second class citizens in our own homes.
