Jimin is the capstone of BTS. Absolutely love this song n performance. His producer PDogg said Jimin ended K-pop with this song. It went straight to #30 in Billboard Hot 100 chart, the first for a K-pop soloist song. Later with Like Crazy he debuted #1 in Billboard Hot 100. The first Korean soloist and with Korean song. The first Asian soloist to do so after Billboard's 60-year history (last Asian, Japanese, to get it was in 1963). He also first K-pop soloist to become #1 in Billboard Artist 100. He did all that without US radio, company push etc. Many reactors have said its a performance art, a masterpiece and only a confident performer will wear same colour clothes as dancers. Set Me Free pt2 trended #1 on KZbin for a week until it was taken over by his Like Crazy. It was also on top of Spotify Game Songs playlist for many months.

In this song, the author/speaker is talking to the person in the mirror who is telling that person (his own self) to let him go of the negativity (depression) he was going through during the pandemic. This song is the last song in his solo album Face, which is a chronological narration of what he went through the pandemic. He made this Album to set himself from the darkness he was in so he cam free himself and ready get back on his feet to be able to perform again and face their Army in Concert. The choreography represents the different fragments and levels of his mental state at this time, struggling to fight against all the negative noise inside his heads. The hand movements represents his struggles from getting rid of all the negative thoughts. At the end of the day, he took charge and set himself free.

Jimin es un artista muy versátil que le gusta desafiarse constantemente y así lo hizo con Set Me Free Pt2 (SMF), sorprendiendo a todos con su concepto, letra y su voz, usando la distorsión como alguien que habla consigo mismo en distintos estados. Para mí SMF represente la síntesis de un proceso de crisis, introspección y liberación, de alguien que es acosado externamente (medios, haters, presión social, expectativas de otros, etc.) y sus propios pensamientos y "demonios internos", que tras observarse, se abraza, acepta, libera y avanza siendo tal como es, sin ya dar crédito a sus detractores ni a sus propios temores. Hay muchas teorías sobre su MV, ya que ocupa muchos simbolismos, ya que Jimin buscó plasmar su letra también en la coreografía. Hay una parte donde lo apuntan y se observan flashes de cámaras en las paredes y dos grupos de personas a cada lado, que habla de la presión y persecución. El poema alemán hace referencia también a lo que quiere expresar sobre su proceso y está puesto sobre su piel, esta fue una solicitud hecha por el propio Jimin. Only Jimin can outdo himself. He is art in motion. That's why the dance practice is even better than the MV, and the live performance tops them all. It takes a lot to impress someone like me. At my age, I've seen and heard it all. Jimin is a unique and extremely talented artist. He is the whole package. It was such a thrill and pleasure to discover him. All his solo songs are gems and so different to each other. But they all have one thing in common, and that is Jimin's ability to emote lyrics. His singing, like his dancing, is so expressive. His first solo album, Face, is like a book, each song a chapter. That's why it's best to first listen to the whole album, from start to finish. If not, then you miss out on the very personal story he is trying to tell. Not to mention the beautiful way he is using his voice in Face-off and Alone. I can't talk highly enough of this young man!
