You can't be someone's sunshine all the time. For 9 years he's been relentless as ARMY'S hope and sunshine, probably even when he didn't always feel that way. Now he wants us to see all aspects of Hobi, JHope, Hoseok hoping that we embrace that as well. I love everything about this song and anticipate more truth from this man like we've never seen before.

100% percent agree with everything AJJ said, it's so scary to even think about what Hobi can do, I'm beyond excited for this album, he's forreal the most versatile artist out there, the music industry should be scared as well. This song was incredibly refreshing and unexpected. I always think how he surprises us, in every song, every performance he comes in a different way, so Jack In The Box seems like the perfect title for his album, I'm dying to be blown away by it

Jung Hoseok is the ICON, is the PIONEER. He is legit the most versatile and bold artist in Kpop, my guy just doesn't give the stereotype Kpop shit to his listeners! Unique, genius, creative, talented, self-composed there is no way that I can emphasize enough that how incredible he is. He is the MOMENT. Period.
@evek25012 жыл бұрын
Hobi has put a stake in the ground far from what was expected. He broke out of the box in a pull-the-bandaid-off-fast kinda way. He's also shed the boyband persona in one foul swoop. Now that he's gotten all that out of the way, he's free to explore his artistic range with the fans that want to go for the ride with him. I suspect too, that he's going to get many more new fans -- ones that are not into Kpop. I've watched a couple of rock producers react to the song and one of them even said it was the best rock song to come out in ages. Way to go Hobi!!!

The concept of the mixtape is inspired by the Greek myth "Pandora's box", which basically consists of the idea that there is a box that contains all the bad things in the world, and when the box is opened, all these things go out into the world. "Watch out everyone, I'm reckless." That one line tells me everything I need to know about the wild ride we about to be taken on. What we've seen for the past 9 years was him being cautious. That thought alone terrifes me because people that are reckless while knowing what they're doing are the kinds of forces that turn EVERYTHING upside-down. Jack is Hoseok without the filter the industry forced on them. And now that he's out, we get to see the balance between he and jhope, and how both of them make up the absolutely incredible person Jung Hoseok.

I’m a fan that went from the metal/screamo/emo pipeline into the DEEP end of BTS, so when I saw this last night I almost cried. I’m so, so happy that he’s feeling himself out and really saying what he wants to say and what he means. I’ve never, for even a second, thought BTS’ music was insincere. I think they’re sincere to the depths of their souls. But I think they’ve had to play it a bit safe with their experiments because people may not have been ready to embrace all parts of them as artists, the darker and troubled sides. I think Hoseok (he’s not Hobi here, lol) is so brave for ripping that bandaid off first. That ball of sunshine that’s scared of every bug on earth just pulled his beating heart out of his body, laid it on the table and told us to take it or leave it. I’m taking it. I’m so very, very proud of him and this song is INCREDIBLE. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album. I’m ready for that visceral ride. Great reaction, I was so excited to watch and ya’ll didn’t disappoint as always. Much love 💜

as someone who has their roots in rock and heavy metal as well, no other kind of music can ever compare to the kind of emotional intensity that rock brings. sometimes your feelings just bubble up and up and threaten to overflow and rock is the perfect outlet. im so glad that hobi’s just letting it all out too! all the feelings that he’s had over the past few years about his work, his artistry, his life as j-hope of bts. i just viscerally felt it as soon as that chorus hit. he has a desperate urge to show what he’s got to offer, to grow and grow and be able to coexist as both j-hope and jung hoseok, bring that final piece of himself that he’s had to compromise for the sake of the team out into the open, and im so proud of him for taking the step. bts are artists to the core

I can totally see why they released Proof and Suga skirted around it at the Festa dinner - it is OK to keep looking back but as artists if you want longevity you can't do this forever. Notice the xray part? where he was spitting clearly what he wants? Basically It symbolizes the "raw/unfiltered jhope" the explicit side of him wanting things.

He turned me upside down like a box and shook the contents out of my soul. It’s raw, it’s real, and I cannot wait to hear “MORE” from him!! The rest of them, too.

You guys have the best read on this knew era of Hobi….Been seeing reviews that it’s to dark blah blah blah. For that they want to criticize and dog him out. Everything is not for everyone. And like someone already said you can’t be sunshine and rainbows your whole life. Even Batman & Superman had a dark side. I will be pointing people to this video so they can get a better understanding/feeI for this new era of Hobi. Thanks much luv!! 💜x7

J-Hope is so talented as we all know but with this solo project, I feel like he is being very open and vulnerable about his passion for music. He is being very brave and honest revealing other sides of himself and I’m very happy for him and excited to see what comes next. 👏🏽🙌🏽🤩😍🥳💜
