@@homie-gtv322 It is a fools errand to think that diecast are ever going to be a huge payoff in the future for a collector. I have over $78,000 dollars worth of Diecast if you go by MSRP for them, I did not pay anywhere near MSRP for the majority of my 179 piece 1/18 scale diecast collection but for inventory purposes and homeowners insurance I have everything listed at MSRP in the event I were to suffer a total loss of my home. There are a handful of pieces in my collection that today go for over MSRP because they are out of production and hard to find but are very well detailed diecasts.

I get the arguments and frustrations with non-licensed products, but one of the many problems that arises with wanting licensed stuff is that you could be waiting an unknown amount of time for a specific release. The other issue is the mark ups and insane prices they charge you when they finally do release. The customer will go where they can find what they're looking for even if its at the expense of quality assurance. My advice is to make non-license compete with license by being very selective with your purchases and force them to improve upon their releases. It happens in other sectors of collecting.

I don't buy the quality assurance argument at all, just look at a Hot Wheels Elite Ferrari which were licensed products and look at CMC Ferraris where are not licensed and the CMC sells for higher prices but is better detailed than the licensed Hot Wheels Elite products were.

@@mustangecoboosthpp3869 "Quality Assurance" is just a buzzword thrown around by whichever party is using it. Without competition, the licensed company eventually becomes lazy in some aspects of its product, and that's when non-recognized parties step up as competition. One trade-off for the customer may include paying a higher rate than the retail releases for more detail, as you said. But as long as customers are buying consistently from non-recognized sources, they can charge the maximum people are willing to pay. That's where being selective comes in. It forces them to pay attention to what is sold and the particulars of why, which includes price.

To be fair, it's the responsibility of the car manufacturers to sue companies doing unlicensed products. They're the guys who own the rights to the logo, name and all that. If the car manufacturers don't care about copyright well I guess it's ok for anyone to not bother asking them for a license. Licensing does not guarantee quality. You can still have a licensed model car and it's accuracy is trash. I've seen enough to question don't Ford, GM, Acura, Honda even care there are people out there making their cars look crap as a model.

I slowly start getting less Hot Wheels for many reasons: 1. Very few detailed cars (more and more are coming in 2024, though) 2. Too much fantasy cars (ik why) 3. Premiums are overpriced in ukraine. I have only one which i got for 8 dollars, and it's really cool, just overpriced 4. Very few actually cool castings appear on pegs in Ukraine. The 500E costs 8 dollars USED, cybertruck almost never appears, and much more

I was surprised how cheap Walmart is selling them. And with the improved quality. I see the same cars I paid up to 5 times as much for, but these have working trunk lids and look better at least far as I can tell without taking them out of the box. The boxes even have clear see through plastic in the front and back so you really can display them better without taking the car out of the box. My collection goes back to the late 1990s and they are much worse quality. I'd rather not pay twice as much for the same thing or worse just because it has a manufacture license. Put that expense into the actual making of the diecast

I agree that the thing that Street weapon did with the ken block cars was a bit scummy. Other than that i think Street Weapon makes some fantastic models with insanely good details for a good price. The thing that Time micro does on the other hand... (remaking models from other brands in way worse quality with pre-order photos that don't show the actual product) ... is way worse.

You're not specifically after TM or any other manufacturer's model most of the time. You most likely wouldn't buy their fantasy cars, regardless of the quality. You're after a representation of something real, something that has a meaning to you. That meaning might have taken years of hard work and cost a ton of cash to be developed. Someone making an unlicensed model is cashing in on it, leeching on the efforts of those who have actually made the car. I wouldn't mind that much if it was some obscure pre-war vehicle a IP vulture holds brand rights to, or one of the automotove behemoths. But I wouldn't feel comfortable buying an unlicensed model of a Lotus, Mazda or Saab (back when it existed), for example. Just doesn't seem fair.

I think your opinion is a bit agressive, eventhough i totally agree and respect. However in my pov, if we are talking about hobby, i think it's not a big deal as long as you buying them for your hobby only and clearly acknowledge the faulty details or the design treatment, and not trying to cheat on newbies who has limited knowledge about the model or the brand. Timemicro for example is a unlicencing brand however you cannot deny that some of their models are quite good in term of execution. What i mean is depend of how you define your hobby direction. For example if your a serious collector who is aiming for legit, quality and right treatment on the model then you should avoid brand like that. However if you are just simply collecting whatever you see nice and fit your taste, and you're totally aware of the incorrect details or unlicence matters then any brand is good as long as you like it. Because collecting cars or any other hobby it need to be free and be fun. In the end of the day, your knowledge about what you buy or own is matter. But not by following opinion from others. Knowledge is the key not the product. And thanks for you contents. By watching them my knowledge about many diffetent models is enlightened. But i still by some TM models, because i simply like some of them 😀

Sensational idea, but I think the collector is more concerned with the quality of the reproduction than whether it is licensed or not. Most collectors I know prefer a well-made Ferrari with a dubious license over a poorly made but well-known brand with a license. Error404 is wayyy above the license cars, you can’t even compare the amount of details they got compared to most of them, unfortunately they are pricey , but there are way more none licensed brands who are 10x times better than licensed ones regarding the price and details that are providing . If you like it , you buy it , no need to wait for a “licensed brand” to make the model if others did it already at the right price .

I will not be getting your list but I have to suspect that you have CMC on your do not buy list because they do not have a license from Ferrari for their 1/18 scale Ferrari diecasts. Funny thing is the CMC are far better detailed diecasts than were the Hot Wheels Ferrari diecasts that were licensed by Ferrari. The CMC are far more desirable to have in your collection than are the Hot Wheels.

Very few I’ve seen have quality worse than the best of Greenlight at the very least. The market continues to diversify and impress. Civilian aircraft in there too. If that doesn’t fit your goals I respect that but diversification helps chances of continuing business success. After all, Venezuela put all their points in one or two fields and look at em now. Not really, this is a list based on the brands within the list. The brands you have mentioned are legit brands indeed but not brands I feature much on this channel because I showcase the higher detailed and quality collectibles. Nothing wrong with those brands for sure but brings to light brands you didn't know about too.

His list is trying to bring awareness to the higher end, higher detailed, display box type models that are unlicensed. Green Light, Autoworld and Johnny lightning, although licensed, are more on the lower quality, toy-ish spectrum.

Bburago is license for Ferrari but their "1/64" scale is a travesty. Sorry but I'll buy from whatever brand can make a proper 1/64 scaled, highly detailed, and acrylic/plastic displayed car whether licensed or not. Been waiting for ages for a fourth gen Honda Prelude or a Del Sol and whoever makes it first will get my money and I dont give a hoot if its not a legit company

That's exactly my point, licensing does not guarantee quality. Licensing is just the car manufacturer giving you permission to use their logos and name. They're not going to come round to your factory and check your designs are accurate before granting you a license. As long as you pay them mucho dollars, they ain't going to care.

Inno64 License but some cars don't have license like Porsche 911 LBWK Sunflower Or Toyota AE86 Keiichi Tsuchiya,Which weird but most their cars are license,So don't worry,Brand like HKM,Time Micro,Street Weapon and some other not license
