In FL studio shortcuts are essential. Literally just keep your left hand on ctrl (shift, alt) which are the main buttons for shortcuts combined with letter keys and the mouse buttons+scrollwheel is all you need, you dont really need to click on toolbar buttons.

Learning a new daw is always a pain in the ass. I tried fl a few years back and the navigation and overall workflow is just not for me. Ableton is less complex at basic tasks. You don’t have to think about sample stretching or when your creating midi notes it’s less having to mess around with that view of song and edit mode. Ableton’s stock plugins are just as good. I am more focused on melody making, sound design, and mixing things that take a life time to master.

I paid $300 for FL a few years ago, made a few beats with it, been using Ableton ever since. FL is just not as intuitive as Ableton. I just couldn't get a good workflow going. Plus I mostly deal with samples, and Ableton's audio manipulation is 2nd to none. I also love using Serato Studio. No other "DAW" I know can do what SS does, as far as key matching every sound you load into it.

watching you try to delete things had me pulling my hair hour lmao, you dont need to use the delete tool just right click with the pencil tool or select what youre trying to delete and press backspace or delete. also instead of switching to the select tool just hold control and it does the same thing, control plus shift to add more things to what you already have selected. basically just stay on pencil 95% of the time.
