Fun Fact: The script for this move was based on a spec script Jonathan Hensleigh had originally conceived as a Brandon Lee action film before the actor's death, with the working title Simon Says. The script was considered for the fourth installment of the Lethal Weapon series before being picked up for Die Hard. Also he placed one of the scenes near his New York apartment so he could watch them film from his bedroom window.

At 36:17, Jane starts to figure it out, but the movie edits out the method for actually solving the puzzle. Basically, you fill the 5 gallon jug and use it to fill the 3 gallon jug, leaving you with just 2 gallons in the 5 gallon jug. Then you empty the 3 gallon jug completely and pour the 2 gallons into the 3 gallon jug. Finally, you refill the 5 gallon jug and pour one gallon into the 3 gallon jug - filling it completely - leaving exactly 4 gallons in the 5 gallon jug, puzzle solved. But the filmmakers/editors decided it was too convoluted or confusing to explain, and to be fair, there's more than one way to solve that problem, so they just skipped it and emphasized Zeus' racism instead. But they do show the end of the puzzle by having them pour out one gallon from the 5 gallon, leaving just 4 gallons, so they DID use the method above, even though it wasn't shown in its entirety.

36:00 When you fill the big jug, it holds 5 gallons. By dumping all you can from that into the smaller jug, the big one has 2 gallons left in it. Dump out the smaller jug. Move the 2 gallons left from the big one to the smaller one. Now the small jug can fit 1 gallon more, and the big jug is empty. Refill the big jug from the fountain and dump one gallon into the smaller one, so that it's full. Nord Des Lignes is a large truck stop just over the border in Quebec. McClane knew that was where Simon bought the aspirin and took a shot that he would go back there. The scene was actually filmed at the TA Travel Center in Jessup Maryland.

I actually worked at 74th and Broadway on the 4th floor of the Apple Bank building and watched them film the pay phone 72nd St scene over the course of two days. That was a real pay phone. A lot of those people were not extras. They taped off the payphone during filming but those are real people going in and out of the station. And yes at that time on 72nd St you could look down through the grates and see the train. Except for the obvious fake yellow phone on the train it's one of the more realistic portrayals of the NYC subway on film. Also met both of them on a random day when some office peeps went to lunch at DALLAS BBQ and they were both there. Mr. Jackson was holding court at a booth like a boss. Mr. Willis was very low-key but they were both really great and accommodating to every person who came up to them. Oh and also ... loved the reaction! You guys are so great.

What I love about this movie is that the bad guy, while not at all good, isn't entirely evil either. "I'm a soldier, Mr. McClane. Not a monster." He wasn't. It was so refreshing.

Water fountain puzzle. We did this exact puzzle as kids in elementary school. Fill the 3 gallon and pour into the empty 5. Fill the 3 again and pour a second time into the 5. One gallon will remain from the second pour. Now pour everything from the 5 gallon out. Pour that remaining one gallon from 3 back into the 5, and then just refill 3 completely and pour into 5

The bomb that went off on the train was always supposed to go off, even if John had joined Zeus, because as you know they needed the explosion on that spot of the train specifically for the heist and if it had taken out John & Zeus thats a positive to Simon...LOVE you guys and the reactions. So great to always see these fun uploads. PS. J V you are damn smart my man for being real good at catching these things in movies always paying good attention to the plot and things being said that are real clues to the plot. 22:06 This seen in the subway with the shaky cop and Zeus needing to answer the phone, should feel familiar if you've ever seen The Incredibles. It was an 'inspiration' for the scene when Frozone and Mr Incredible are in the jewelry store after rescuing people from the burning building and the cop is shaking with his gun drawn on Frozone, and Frozone just 'needs a drink of water'. It's a fun homage.

On any Die Hard with a Vengeance reaction I NEED to recommend the movie 16 Blocks. In my mind, it is the unofficial final Die Hard movie. Bruce Willis plays a down and out, close to retirement cop and it was directed by Richard Donner, the director of the Lethal Weapon movies. It is SO good and doesn't get nearly enough credit as a GREAT Bruce Willis movie!

The one thing I don't like about this movie is that it breaks up John & Holly. Especially after the first two movies spent so much time having John go through so much to save her. But, the actress didn't want to come back. Other than that, it nearly ties with the first Die Hard for me. Which I prefer between them really depends on which I've seen more recently.

The film cuts away from the key part to solving the water jug puzzle. So you fill the 5 all the way, transfer to the 3 till it's full leaving 2g in the 3 with 1g empty space _but then you empty the 5_ and fill it all the way up again, so when you transfer till the 3 is full this time, it will only remove 1g from the 5 and hey presto you have your 4 gallons.

I think if Zeus did try jumping on to the boat from the bridge, it still would've ended up worse for him. LOL, they should've had a post-credit scene where we see Zeus's shop still intact, LOL. The Die Hard trilogy is 1 of the rare batch of movies where the 3 movies of the trilogy are all just as great, if not even better, as the original. Die Hard trilogy and Lethal Weapon trilogy always come to mind immediately when I think of the best trilogies. The Last Boy Scout is probably my other most favorite Bruce Willis movie beside the Die Hard movies. I think J.V. would love, if he never yet saw them, the G.I. Joe movie with Channing Tatum & its sequel with The "Rock & the TMNT movie from 2014 & its sequel.

Ok the jug of water puzzle. Fill up the 5 gallon jug full. Then pour water into the 3 gallon jug from the full 5 gallon until the 3 gallon jug is full. This leaves 2 gallons in the 5 gallon jug (5-3=2) Then dump the 3 gallon jug. Then pour the 2 gallons in the 5 gallon jug into the now empty 3 gallon jug. The 5 gallon is empty and the 3 gallon has 2 gallons of water and 1 gallon of air. Fill the 5 gallon jug full and then poor water from the 5 gallon into the 3 gallon jug. It will take 1 gallon to fill the 3 gallon jug which currently has 2 gallons of water and 1 gallon of air. (2+1=3). This leaves 4 gallons in the 5 gallon jug. (5-1=4)

Fun fact: many movies have Hungarian references, but very few are correct. Targo - left hand of Simon - isn't a Hungarian name and he hasn't got Hungarian accent. I think it's one of the most difficult to recognize, I think only a Hungarian recognize a Hungarian accent. One of my favourite episodes in Die Hards. Very good trio for the main roles. Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus himself) turned down two big roles that went to Samuel Jackson. Tarantino wanted Fishburne for Pulp Fiction, but his representatives convinced him not to do it. there is a weird mistake that happens when Simon says that a bomb is located in one of many schools, Zeus children were at school by that time of the movie and he knows that, but he didn´t say anything about it or you can see him worried about it, he goes there and there with McClane but he never mentions his children to be at school, then he reacts when he learnt that the bomb was in his children´s school, a thing that is really weird cause there were 1446 schools and there is a BIG casuality that that bomb was placed in Zeus children´s school! and you will probably tell me ¨he placed that bomb when he knew Zeus was helping McClane¨ I don´t think so, Simon´s plan was designed before, all was prepared for his mission.

I may be mistaken, but Zeus wasn't in the van when Simon revealed there was a bomb in a school. John just asked him who the 21st President was, but didn't tell him why he was asking. In addition, the school janitor told the police the bomb was delivered that morning. Fun Facts: The sign John is wearing was edited in post to put the racist words on it but the real sign said something else for obvious reasons. Also the stealing of the gold was so realistic that the real place had to change their security procedures to stop what happened in the movie from happening in real life because it was possible to do the exact thing.
