I can't watch reactions to Forrest Gump because people are so hateful towards Jenny, if you've never been sexually abused by a family member maybe try not to judge her so harshly? If you've never been through anything like that you wouldn't understand how deeply that effects you for the rest of your life, being so young and being so horribly betrayed by someone you love and trust. She left because she felt like she wasn't good enough for Forrest, who is so good and pure, while she feels broken and dirty. I wish people could watch this movie and not try to twist Jenny into a villain and instead find some compassion with victims of sexual abuse the way they find more compassion for people with disabilities/differences (whether they be mental or physical)

What about the abuse of Forrest? If Jenny was "Johnny" and Forrest was "Fiona", "Johnny" would be seen as a villain in our culture. The Jenny character is *_only now_* being recognized for what she is thirty years after the release of _Forrest Gump._ This is because the Red Pill is now mainstream, and men recognize how they are abused by women. This, while simultaneously, women are not just unsympathetic toward men, but are encouraging the abuse of men (and boys). *Have you seen all those high profile arrests and convictions of female school teachers and boys?* I don't see anybody marching about _that..._

If you really want to know the lore it was made for 30 million but had to be out in 10 months for summer. They did shut down Central Park West to Columbus Square which I guess is half a mile to film the ending. Everything else was done in a lot at the studio. My favorite movie of all time. I watched it 500 plus times and still can't get sick of it. Maybe there's something wrong with me😂. Glad you enjoyed it.

It's rumoured that the character Forest Gump, was based on 2 different individuals. Also although it was never said some people think jenny either had Aids or Hepatitis.

You have to see Saving Private Ryan for another Hanks movie. And then watch Band of Brothers and The Pacific, that were produced by Hanks and Spielberg.

This has always been one of my favorite movies ever. I can actually quote the thing! The CGI they used in this, Lt. Dan's missing legs and inserting Forrest into real life historical events was a big deal back then. They called it Gump Technology, as I recall, and there's a great episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine where they used it to have Captain Sisko and his crew travel back through time, and get mixed in with a classic original Star Trek episode from the 60s. It was pretty great. Tom Hanks had a string of really great movies there. My biggest recommendations might go to The Green Mile and A League of Their Own, both of which are very excellent movies. Apollo 13 and Castaway are really special as well. Just subscribed btw.

The accent that Tom uses in the movie is based on the accent that Michael Connor Humphreys, the actor playing young Forrest, has. Tom initially didn't want his accent to be quite that heavy, but the director convinced him to go with it!

My first watch I was mad with Jenny thinking she was doing Forest wrong, but when I watched it again it became clear to me. Jenny was damaged from her father's abuse as a child. She loved Forest and saw him as something pure while she did not see herself as pure and wanted him to stay away from her so she would not corrupt him.

The "I'm walking here!" Line is a reference to Midnight Cowboy. When Dustin Hoffman was crossing the street during a take, a real New York cab drove onto the set and almost hit him, so in a moment of improvisation, Dustin Hoffman slams on the cab and shouts that line and they end up using that take in the movie. Any time someone says that line it's referencing that.

America is being fleeced by healthcare and related industries. We're forced to do business with for profit health insurance. Our medications are marked up 10-100+ times more than they are in other countries. Doctors charge more because they have to pay for their insurance/legal fees and student loans (about $500k depending on the region). Medical supply industries charge insane prices because they have monopolies on their products. Capitalism is absolutely failing us, putting us all in insane debt because when you're dying you'll pay anything to live and there's a never ending supply of greedy mf'ers ready to take everything they can get.

Love the movie but my only complaint is that Jenny relationship seemed more like platonic love and in some ways felt like she owed it to Forrest more than actually wanting to be with him. It wasn't until she was dying that she ever really showed initiative of wanting a romantic relationship with him. Could Forrest do better in some ways yes and no. Point is she just said she saw Forrest as brother or friend would he have given up? I would say yes but then their whole relationship would probably still end up the same minus the kid. Which leads me to believe it was still a platonic and never really romantic love.

American healthcare got worse after this movie. Americans pay more for healthcare and get less for it. There is a video by the Gravel Institute featuring David Cross that's only a few minutes long and it will explain just how shitty America is. You guys should react to it if you wanna know how bad it is here.

One humorous detail about the movie is it keeps showing those guys in the barber shop, staring in disbelief at every new exploit of Forrest’s that is on TV (while they never do anything but sit there).

The Vietnam war was part of America’s attempt to halt the spread of communism. The U.S. backed the South Vietnamese against the communist North, aka the Viet Cong. America lost the war as it’s almost impossible to defeat a force fighting in the jungle using guerrilla tactics. This reoccurred in the 2000s when we were in Afghanistan.

The phrase (I'm walking here) comes from the movie Midnight Cowboy. The line was not scripted, a New York Taxi driver drove past the Production assistant holding traffic and almost hit Dustin Hoffman. So he Yells at the taxi driver... (I'm walking here). And Dustin Hoffman never breaks character and finishes the original scene. The director loved the interaction so much that it made it into the final edit.
