The game mode looks great, but I really dont care for the new point system. Only getting points on kill means that theres no reason to go for anything like a point gun, so you just get locked into a cycle of hitting the box for a max rarity gun you like and that's all you ever use

You only get higher rarity guns as the rounds go up and you can also upgrade your guns aswell so, you won't be stuck on the box until you get a max rarity gun everytime

Its the same point system as in BO4, so if you played that it shouldn't be in issue. In BO4 you can earn max 130 points I believe from any given zombie.

This actually excites me genuinely. Innovating with newer themes while providing the option for veterans to experience the game however they please with hud setttings. Setting up is easier than ever, but don’t let that fool u. This will gain the attention of newer players but the skill ceiling is somewhat there with some decent training areas but tighter corridors where there are places u need to go. Just look at that early round zombie health! Awesome

So for everyone concerned about the "warzone stuff" it works well in zombies believe me. If you don't want to use armor you don't have to it really imo doesn't make a great deal a difference but the zombie drops of salvage and the other one is actually useful and picks up on its own the only manual pick ups are equipment. The flow is so much better than bo4

@@dart4388 yes! Specialist weapons are ass at base level and balanced at max in this game not too op. Zombies are killable but you have to upgrade your weapons. This game adds incentive to become better! Not just pack a weapon and run in a circle for 8 hours. Im sure EE will be amazing. Dark Aether mode blew me away visually stunning! Boss zombie is awesome tough and unique. Perks are back! Elemental pop has an awesome jingle! Hahaha you will see. Perk upgrades are useful and exfil is actually very important if you want bonus stuff to upgrade your shit. The replayability is there! Zombies has turned into an almost rpg type game. You start out quite bad but with time and grind you become really good! Its still challenging however the mix of zombies plague hounds and bosses makes it tough and can mess up a train easily. High rounds should still be challenging and fun!

there’s some questionable choices here. why is the hud just ripped from multiplayer? why do we need to see the directions at the top of the screen? why do we need to see the zombies health and name above every zombie? why does a sentence appear on the screen everytime we kill a zombie? why is there damage numbers like this is fortnite? it also seems weird how you don’t get points for damaging zombies only killing them, this new point system could work out it’s too early to tell so not going to complain about that too much. it just looks like multiplayer. before zombies had a completely unique feel but the lines are getting blurred. of course it’s not life or death for the game i’m not saying it’s bad so fanboys get off my back it’s just not a good first impression. it’s really too early to say the game could be great but after black ops 4 i’m not letting myself get my hopes up.

I really do like the way they changed the formula. It was kind of boring “oh, shoot 8 times in the foot, knife, maximize points, etc.” Of course I’m still starting with the pistol, but it’s still cool you have the option to start with an ar. Not to mention the upgrade system. Zombies looks pretty good right now, I can’t lie. Also, there are going to be people that crucify me saying that. To be honest, I don’t give a shit if you think it’s garbage.

Id say if sledghammer made this mode of zombies id be fine but since treyarch are the ones making it I feel theyre losing touch with their original formula. Because this is Lex's life. His paycheck all depends on how well this game does. If this game flops (like I personally think it will) he’s gonna have to go back to customs or do other stuff, and he won’t be getting nearly as many views as if this game was popping, so he’s trying to sell this and make it look as good as possible. Point system is rewarded by achievements, FE: if you a stun a zombie you get 10 if you kill a zombie you get 95, critical kills/headshots/melee kills get you 115(ironic), etc...

I don’t know how they did it but despite having a 7-10 hit down (with fully upgraded jug and system depending on your armour) they actually keep the skill ceiling somewhat there and it can still be difficult at times, I thought you’d need to be in a Comatose state to down but its actually fun and edge of your seat gameplay somewhat and don’t even get me started on how good all the gameplay intergration is with how everything ties together so nice to make some of the best gameplay zombies has ever had, all we need is a better point system to make smgs relevant, more damage for pistols, assault rifles and snipers and some bug tuning with other minor fixes and this is gonna be a real good year for zombies

Innovation isn’t the issue. It’s the laziness. The game just feels extremely hollow with bland operators. Treyarch once again opted for a reimagined map. The game lacks the classic atmosphere that previous installments had. Saying that it isn’t bo1 or bo3 is a weak argument. It is BLACK OPS ZOMBIES so therefore it should still have its identity.

They still technically have a damage points system (you only get points when you get a kill) and power looks kind of useless because you only need for pack and with weapon scaling in the game the need for pack isn’t as necessary. Also the interface that pops up when using pack and crafting table feel way too intrusive

Glad zombies changed. Tired of the old formula. Having not played it....like most people here in the thread........I personally think it looks fine. But playing and watching are two different things. Not a fan of the multi-player toons being solely used but I think more zombies cast will be added later. But its a welcome change so far imo. Not a fan of zombie health bars though.

ah all of my worst fears for zombies this year have come to fruition. starting with an AR is just stupid and takes the fun out of progressing through the map. no cast. the screen is cluttered with the point system. zombies has been trying to do too much since bo2. bo1 was the best for a reason. straight forward gameplay with option easter eggs that rewarded you for completing them but didn’t end the game. just you, perks, guns, traps, and zombies.

As i mentioned on another video, the old zombies days are long gone people. Complaining won’t get you anywhere. Treyarch is taking a new approach this time around, creating a new story from scratch. If the mode is not of your liking and you miss the “old zombies” experience, simply go back and play those older games.

To be honest, I kind of like this new direction of zombies. No it isn't what I'm used to, but it feels fresh and new. The main game cycle of zombies has been mostly the same since Der Riese in WAW with PAP. Get to box, get guns, get perks, pap, survive. But this has shaken those core mechanics. Now you can instead focus on getting perks first as you can start with an okay gun, or you can focus on opening the map up. This feels much more creative and different with more choices on how to survive that don't involve using something like gobblegums, which can be argued to be P2W. The new PAP system is also cool as hell. Instead of having to pap multiple times you can save up and pap a huge boost at once or instead decide to just do a bullet upgrade to change something there. The new point system with it only being from kills really pushes that aggressive playstyle too, you have to get yourself out there and really be the best player on the team to keep getting points. The expo system also makes a lot of sense now, it fits the storyline and time frame as this is a later 20th century military operation so of course there will be additional help than what we are used to in the previous games. Overall I think this will be a good change to zombies and really can be the start of something fresh and new.

This is just me guessing at it since I’ve only been watching streams and haven’t played at all, but I think zombies this year is going to have a lot of issues. To me, it seems like many of the problems from BO4 are back again. One change they made was the perk system is basically back to the classic system so that’s good, but they also did remove double tap which is iconic and they instead replaced it with weapon upgrades, which is similar to BO4. Sure, BO4 didn’t have the same system to increase your weapons strength, but still it required a separate system and removed double tap, just like this game is doing. Also, they brought jug back, but the effectiveness of jug is counteracted by the fact that the zombies hit harder as the rounds go on. So in the higher rounds, even with jug, you can still get one or two shot without armor. Speaking of the armor system, I think it’s going to mirror a lot of the same problems as there were with the shield in BO4. In BO4 there was no jug, so the shield become super important and useful, but what everyone hated was that you had to pay for it each time. Now, you don’t have to pay more for the armor each time which is a difference and it’s good, but still, I think it’s going to be annoying to have to go craft more armor each round as you get into the high rounds, because if you don’t, the zombies will destroy you, even if you have double juggernaut. The weapons and their variety also seem kinda bad. I’ve only watched a little bit of earlier round gameplay so I could be wrong, but it seems like the strategy is just to use and survive with only your starting weapon, upgrading it with the PAP, until round 20 when the box gets really good weapons. So it seems that until that point, there’s no reason to hit the box or use any other weapons other than the starting ones, which destroys the usefulness of the box on early round and also limits weapon variety on early rounds. The zombies dropping equipment is interesting, and it does provide a better variety of throwable equipment to use, but it doesn’t seem to me to be much better of a system than BO4 where equipment just recharged. For the salvage system in general, I don’t know if I can really speak on it without having played. I’m a zombies old timer, so I’m probably more biased against it than most people so I will acknowledge that, and I’ll say just that I don’t like it but I know that I’m biased. For the point system, I really don’t like it and that’s another major issue this game seems to share with BO4. Only getting points for kills totally eliminates the purpose for point guns like smg’s and now all that matters is having the gun that deals the most damage per shot, which was an issue BO4 had. The HUD seems to be improved from BO4, but that’s not saying much. For one, the hud is straight copy pasted from multiplayer/war zone. In zombies, there’s no need for a compass at the top of the map. Also, the health bars when you have a whole horde of zombies is annoying, and when you kill the horde, your screen is just totally full of “+100 zombie kill.” I understand you can turn that off, but I don’t think it excuses how bad or annoying it is in the first place. The mid round boss seems fine, I can’t remember it’s name. It does seem annoying and tanky if you have any guns other than a ray gun, but that’ another thing I don’t feel confident saying since I haven’t played it. The ray gun is great, I always felt it was kinda underpowered, so it’s good that it’s stronger, although it can only be strong with the weapon upgrade system, which was a complaint of BO4, having to upgrade weapons 3-4 times to make them actually be at their max potential. The wonder weapon is kinda weak, and in the future you will be able to upgrade it, but right now it stops one shotting at around round 30, which isn’t awful but definitely isn’t that strong. This is compared with other box weapons such as the thunder gun, but we can all also acknowledge that many of those guns are op. It seems like the weapons are balanced, but that’s not the point of zombies. The guns are balanced so they’re not op and you can’t just easily kill zombies with them, but zombies has never been fun because it was balanced. Now I’m gonna talk about the feel of the game, and for this section especially, I’m just guessing since I haven’t played it. To me, it doesn’t feel like zombies, it feels like war zone, on a multiplayer map, where you’re fighting zombies. Most of the new mechanics are copied from war zone, the map feels like Redwood from BO3 multiplayer, and it just doesn’t feel like zombies. Zombies has always been different from multiplayer, but now it feels like they’re trying to make it feel like multiplayer, just with zombies there also. A quick note about the new perk, elemental pop, it seems pretty weak and not worth it. It’s not interesting enough to justify its own existence, kinda like the changes that they made to deadshot daiquiri. I hope that I’m totally wrong and off base and I hope that this game is incredible and fun and revolutionary, but I really am having major doubts and reservations about it.
