Thank you for sharing. It's always fascinating to see how others organize materials. At one time, I had hundreds of dies and used every method storing them. Now it's a small bin half full of my favorites held in clear storage pockets, and a magnetic board on the wall next to me displaying just the basics. Seems crazy, but somewhere down the line, the sheer amount of dies I had and hardly used, was beginning to stress me.

I can totally get that. I would organize mine differently if I didn't do videos. I would organize by type, not brand, and I would take apart all the sets and get rid of similar items, but since I get asked, "Where did you get that die?" I need to keep them organized like this. :)

Hi Dolly!! Love your thoughts on all kinds of good ideas. I am a flipper, out of site out of mind. I use photo boxes from Michaels. Everything is labeled sleeves with a magnet for the dies. Turned on the long side, not the short side, and they fit perfectly. Heavy, yes, but perfect on my shelve. I do have categories and things divided. It works for me. Also have stamps, embossing folders, and stencils this way. Thank you for sharing!!!

Yes! I did mention at the beginning that I started off with cardboard with magnetic sheets applied to them. They are in a shoe box. I love the ones now that you can get that come in a plastic sleeve, so we won't lose dies off the sets.

Hi Lollie. I make my own storage system with laminating pouches and magnetic sheets of eBay then sort them into groups ie, critters, flowers, Christmas, animals, sentiments etc etc then store them standing up in a long plastic storage container. If there are matching stamps, I store them on the rear side of the magnet sheet in the same plastic cover. I've found that the thicker the magnetic sheet, the stronger the magnetic stick (if you like). I won't use any magnetic sheet of less than 1 mm thickness as it is too weak of a hold. I also make a sleeve from laminating pouches for my embossing folders and store them in the same set up as the stamps and dies. I run of a sample of the embossing folder which I keep in the sleeve so that I can see at a glance what it will look like when its made up. Hope this helps someone. Thank you for your video.

These are great ideas! When setting up my studio after our move I found two four drawer LEGAL file cabinets at Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Now all stamps and dies go into 5.5 x 8.5 mini poly sheet protectors and get filed away. Love your videos!😍

Hey Lolly...I do have one of the ArtBin storage cases but for the amount of dies I have, it would be way too expensive to use this method of die storage for all my dies. The AB magnet sheets are very thick however for those interested. Always great to get storage ideas from crafters. Thanks for sharing Lolly

Great organizing ideas, Lolly! Some of the magnetic sheets have adhesive backs that you could adhere to the backs of some of your white sheets (when not needed for coordinating stamps). Also, could you unpick the stitching of those front pockets so you’d have a larger pocket that you want? You certainly have an enviable collection of dies! Having them organized is truly necessary! :-)

Hi Lolly. I have a special binder for each brand I use. I have the Crafter’s Companion binder, the Diamond Press binders and box, and the Art Bin for some dies. My most used basic dies I have on 5x7 magnetic sheets backed by thick cardboard and have them horizontally in an open bin next to my desk. I have them separated by shapes, and bows and alphabet etc. I can flip through them easily. Aren’t dies heavy! Dealing with the Art Bin is a bit hard because it is so heavy.

Yes, any significant die storage will get pretty heavy. The larger ring binders get heavy, too. I have seen people turn an entire wall of their craft room into magnetic die storage, but I'm afraid I would misplace or mislabel dies.

I started with the Artbin storage, but outgrew it too quickly for the cost of the bins. Plus I’m more of an out of sight out of mind person. I started buying magnetic sheets and clear envelopes and putting them in storage bins. I can flip through these quickly to see what I want since they’re stored on end and not laying on top of each other. The Anna Griffin dies that I have in a binder as the Artbin storage like to stick to each other at times, which slows down my search too. I do have different storage systems, but like the ones I have in the clear storage bins like you organize refrigerators and cabinets the best. If I wasn’t such a visual person the binders might appeal to me more.

I have been looking into those -- magnetic sheets (about 5X7") in clear storage folders, for the same reason -- to store vertically.

Hi Lolly! I ended up putting all my dies in a large binder. I got some A4 magnet sheets, so I put 2 of them in a page protector with a piece of cardstock inbetween. It's not perfect though. I wish the magnet sheets were a bit stronger; when I put my hand in a sleeve to grab something, the sheets bend and my other dies on each sheet come up and move around. And it's heavy. What I do like about it is they're all in the same place, all are visible (I did the same with my stamps and some double-sided tape on the acetate bottom sheets on paper in page protectors) because I was misplacing a set or forgetting I had it. I think if I can find stronger magnetic sheets and maybe use some thin chipboard behind for stability, the whole thing will be more secure. I store mine by subject: Christmas, floral/leaves, text, etc. When I organized by manufacturer I kept forgetting what I had- I ordered a duplicate set once that the shop wasn't happy that I wanted to return. Lesson learned! I am also toying with the idea of making smaller pockets like your half-page binders but we'll see. Lol 7 years ago I didn't have any dies; now I have a binder full. I love them!
