What a wonderful instrument and restoration. I don't think it is a good thing for the organ blower to wear cassock and surplice whilst working - very dangerous! I presume this was a Catholic church. What a tragedy that the modernists have desecrated the original sanctuary. I would dispute that there was any need for congregational accompaniment as there was no place for it in the traditional Catholic liturgy. Thank you for such an informativeproduction. The sounds of the instrument are superb. I assume the pedals are a new addition and permanently coupled to the manual. Mendelssohn sounds especially authentic.
