Being a Paladin doesn't necessarily require one to be good, only to be completely convinced that what they're doing is right regardless if they can be perceived as evil, that's how the light works, just look at the scarlet crusade. the light started to fade within Arthas after the purging of Stratholme, with his closest allies questioning his actions it started to put doubts within his mind combined with being convinced that what he already has isn't enough to save his people making him go seek Frostmourne. But yeah Tyrion was a total good hearted badass.

Confines of gameplay that was retroactively written into the story. At its foundation the "Paladin" is based upon the western ideal of a righteous medieval knight, one adherent to chivalry value. The most direct, and first notion comes from the Song of Roland, written circa 9th-10th century. And in particular the 12 Paladins of Charlemagne, his closest confidants and embodiments of knightly virtue. As it historically, tends to be the case characters like paladins/knights and their equivalents often amplify the virtue a society holds in high regard. For the medieval European knight(Contrary to what media the likes of GOT wishes to portray) the virtues of loyalty, nobility, pride, honor, faith and defense of the weak were deeply ingrained into the knights. Mercy and justice, important traits as well, we see this in Tirions treatment of the Orc, as a direct echo of the Song of Roland, and the 12 Paladins, converting and inducting one of the Saracen warriors into their ranks(Who , by western literary standards of the time, were akin to satanic demons). Tirion further embodies the "Fearless" quality that knights were expected to have "Thou shall not recoil before thine enemy" a common phrase attributed to the chivalric values(Although the text itself is largely not historical and varies greatly between nations). One parallel in history that we do find about being fearless comes from Knights Templar. Who were in fact expected to mimic the appearance and humbleness of Christ. The knights templar moniker of having no fear directly attributed to "My armor will shield me from men, and my faith , will protect me from evil", is likely the first instance of adhering to a higher power directly, in terms of military doctrine rather than just political or populism. TLDR? Paladins in wow... and Tirion Fordring are very much a western European concept, and it is a concept that has goodness and self sacrifice ingrained into it as a core value. WoW Lore revisions, do not change the core motif or the characters actions prior to said revisions.

As an older'' warcraft universe'' player i have to say...dunno about hearthstone but this is by far THE MOST warcraft OF ALL warcraft melodies brings'02 -'03 vibes back since it was probably heard in reign of chaos this is like one of the melodies that truly and utterly depict what maked warcraft so epic. Like totally quintessential of warcraft i mean if you want some distilled warcraftness in your life you can hear this and be satiated/content cause this is it.. Rly rly unique melody. Always was always will be.

Jafroboy very true. I was a hearthstone player for the longest time and every time I heard this theme I thought “hey! Tirion from hearthstone!” But for some reason everyone dicked on me cuz they said it’s a WoW theme or a Wc3 theme, which I knew but the first time i heard it was in hearthstone so I call it a hearthstone theme.

ngl alliance music > horde music. horde only get a few cool tracks, like Forest Ambush and the Thunderbluff Theme. meanwhile alliance got the stormwind theme song, all sorts of cool nelf and dwarf tracks, and this one is obviously aimed at alliance too since the beginning of it is literally the theme played when Arthas enters Lordaeron to you-know-what in that one cinematic.
