@martindaredare Жыл бұрын
Cheers nick yes the interior is definitely better in the black very enjoyable restoration no real problems there's not a lot of spare axle to remove the hubs so I left them on because the base and wheels are all plastic . All the best Martin

Beautiful result! Love the extra detailing on this one. Really brings out the realism. I have the red one in my box with the wheel ladder. Regarding the flashing lights. This can be done. You'll need to replace the blue beacons with blue LED's of the same diameter and drill holes in the roof underneath for the wiring. The tricky part would be to hide the wiring inside the cabin. The circuitry to make the lights flash is pretty simple and the schematic can be found online. Also plenty of room inside for batteries. Personally I would put the switch out of sight on the bottom. No one will see the difference.
@martindaredare Жыл бұрын
Thanks very much my friend this is something to look into ,I was thinking of buying a cheap toy and transferring all the relevant parts and like you said hide the switch underneath it is doable . All the best Martin 👍

Excellent job mate I like that you clean and polish a lot of the mettle bits on the top rather than just paint them.🚒 I think spot lights have a yellow tint to cut through the smoke like fog lamps do. In fog if you put your normal white high beam on you just see a wall of white fog in front of you but if you put a colour on the spot lights it shines through. About ten years ago at ten o'clock at night there was a huge bang. I thought a plane had crashed into the roof of the house as the whole house shook. It turned out to be a teenager trying to turn his car around using our driveway. He pulled in nose first and for some reason instead of putting it in reverse and backing out he stuck his foot on the accelerator and rammed our front room pushing bricks trough and smashing the window. It right where I usually sat and watched tv luckily I was in the loo at the time.🚻 The police, Fire department and ambulance all turned up blue and red lights flashing everywhere. The Firemen came in the house and boarded the window up and propped up the wall so it didn't fall down. The nosey teenager came in the house to look at the damage and was promptly told to get the hell out by a fireman. The insurance payed to fix the brick work and window and the builder had to go around to the side of the house and knock some bricks out to replace the broken ones on the front of the house. As our house is 60 years old now perfect matching bricks are hard to find. He found some bricks that were close but not exactly right and he put those bricks around the side and the salvaged bricks on the front. They even came inside and repainted the room. Unfortunately what we hadn't realised was that the house had such a shake when the car hit it had damaged the pointing on the roof tiles and it wasn't until winter when the rain started we noticed that the roof was leaking and we had to get that fixed by ourselves as the insurance company didn't believe the roof leaking was caused by the car crash.😖 I hope I haven't bored you to much with another of my life story's 🥱😴🤣😂catch you on the next one mate reply when you can no hurry.👍🏻
@martindaredare Жыл бұрын
Blimey Geoff, that would have been a bit scary. Yeah, typical insurance companies hate paying out I know that through personal experience. Polished parts seem to come looking very natural. All the best Martin 👍

looks great, even greater with the detailing. :) we could call it a resto plus, I think. nice yellow, too, and good move with the black interior. you might be right about the structure on the cabin's back, but maybe they only planned to add flashlights? surely there would be one or two castings around with that option, albeit broken, most likely. that one you showed probably had a shortcut with something... or the batteries were too big, dunno. reminds me of a sonic flasher sierra by majorette, which still flashes after all these years. I should pick it apart and replace the battery before it runs out and destroys the electronic.
@martindaredare Жыл бұрын
Cheers, my friend. Yes, I will be looking into giving it a go. I'll probably buy a cheap toy that has flashing lights and transfer it all over . Sonic that's a blast from the past on my saga Saturn all the best Martin

Hi Martin this came out amazing, love the yellow. The spotlight had me thinking back as i'm sure old cars had spot lights that colour but do you remember spot lights that were clear glass with a blue centre.
