Terrific restoration. I have a real soft spot for fire engines, as I was once the chaplain for our fire department (many years ago!).

Did you use the heat gun to remove the jewels in the headlights?

I could not comment from home last week but am catching up now. This one was a peach - the decals didn't bother me at all. Great colour and detailing as ever, Martin. Really nice.

Good call on the wheels, Martin: Land Rover hubs are five stud, so the plain wheels are more accurate. Carmichael did supply vehicles with the old Range Rover 'Rostyle' steelies - I drove a six-wheeler once - but they were five 'spokes', not six. Interesting model for conversion though - the Fire Tender section being removed lands itself to a Code3 - maybe a caravanette, Ambulance or cherry picker. I have seen all of them! Perfect detailing on the final - just lovely! All the hose and mechanical works look like brand new! PS. Love the snoring dog!

I assume this truck would have been very hard to drive with all the cantilevered weight over the front wheels. I have driven 1970s and 1980s Internationals with power steering and power brakes - beautiful to drive - the opposite of a Bedford TJ - drove like a wet sponge.

Not to sound like a broken record but great work on the Landie details✔️colour ✔️ assembly ✔️ I agree those axels let the model down but they are what they are. All the best my friend. Looking forward to the next adventure. Cheers Chris 🏆🥇👍🏼🇦🇺

Another really nice restoration Martin.👍👍Great paint finish and detailing as usual. How did you get the jewelled headlights out in the end - did you try the heat gun method?

It must be the same casting as the breakdown truck, like I used to have as a kid, mainly white, with red doors and bonnet!

Nice one Martin. Another good use of the Landie. Looking a bit more real than off the shelf. . Flowers does nice range of different colour hubs that lòk a bit more like truck wheels. Was that carnival red on the finish? Looks similar to the bus I've recently done

Another nice job Martin, the search light looks great with that little extra detail as do the hoses, it’s a shame they put those wheels on these models, the metal Range Rover ones weren’t quite so bad, but those plastic ones always end up floppy🤦🏻♂☹ All the best, Nick🐸🐸
