Well, Maple is a type of tree, so the kinship with Groot kinda makes sense. I’m sure they’d get along great. 🤔 “I am Groot.”…”I am Maple.”…”I am Groot?”…”I am Maple. I am Maple?”… “I am GROOT!”…”WE…are Maple!” (So well put. They both have such a way with words)

The scene when Mantis and Drax talk about his daughter is not just an emotional scene, it's also a great way to motivate the plot. Mantis said that she only knew Ego and that personal interaction confuses her. Everyone always complained that Mantis should've warned Peter about Ego when they first met. But until she talked with Drax, she never realized that parents are supposed to love their children. It was only after that moment that she decides to warn everybody.

omg the scene when drax is talking about his wife, and he's like just staring off into the distance, regular face and mantis touches him and immediately breaks down, speaks levels to how drax truly feels, but hides it so well.

I've always looked at it one of two ways. 1. Mantis is reliving Drax's pain over losing his family. Something that still hurts him but also something he's grown to accept. Which itself is kind of sad 2. Mantis is actually realizing what a good and healthy parent/child relationship is and realizing how abusive Ego is for the first time

In the comics, the original members of the guardians greatly differed than the film. Youndu was actually a member of the guardians and he had a big mohawk and he used a bow and energy arrows as his weapon the mohawk is in tribute to the comic.
