I have so much respect for Forlan, he never stopped trying for United despite his lack of goals in the beginning. Look at the career he went on to have after United, his initial goal drought would have ruined a lesser players confidence, but not our Diego.

Forlan's successes with Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Uruguay national team clearly demonstrated his great quality. And he wasn't a flop at United. His goals stats do indeed look very average, but he was almost never a starter

@@MalleusIudaeorum Yes, you're right. Forlan was so unlucky in that, at one point, he had to compete with Van Nistelrooy, Solskjaer, Saha and Rooney at the same time, and Ferguson by the mid-2000s only played one striker in most matches. I also liked Veron a lot, Fergie was right in defending him.

Para mi el mejor fue el mago Scarone, quien hasta 2011 fue el mayor goleador de la selección. Ganó 3 mundiales (1924,1928 y 1930) y 4 Copa América. Discutiblemente uno de los mejores futbolistas de la historia... Entre Suárez y Forlán me quedo con Forlán. Capaz Suárez sea mejor pero en cuanto a atributos mentales Diego es ampliamente superior y haber sido mejor jugador en un mundial va a ser algo que Luis no va a poder conseguir nunca (2014 era el suyo pero su desequilibrio le jugó en contra). Los dos son unas bestias y los aprecio mucho pero Suárez podría haber rendido mucho más con la selección si hubiera tenido más respaldo psicológico, una verdadera lástima...
