But in Argentina, we say that it was 1990 the REAL World Cup that Maradona showed his lionhearted stature due to the fact that he played with one foot..his able, left foot was swollen like a pumpkin and medics would not be able to infiltrate his ankle and it was Diego himself who took the syringe and stroke it as deep as he could to go out and play for his country. Messi and Ronaldo owe their careers to Maradona. He was so physically abused on the field due to his talents FIFA literally changed the rules of football. Now you can't touch these guys without getting a yellow or red card, so they can express themselves. He was bigger than Ali. Thats a bad comparison. Maradona was a worldwide phenomenon. Loved by almost every country and culture in the world. Known even by people not into soccer. His skills are incredible even mind blowing. Some of the things he did with the ball cant be replicated by anyone. He did things no other person could ever do.
