I thank your "chillout room" needs to be your dining room. I would make a different space for your living room/chillout room. Thats mostly just going to be a place for a TV and a couch. I think a big dining room with that old fireplace would make that house very inviting.

I remember my mum saying that when she was young her family moved around a lot and the first thing they always did was make up the beds ! Nothing worse than being tired and having to start making beds So you are going in the right direction! Xx

The only trouble with this kitchen location is that there is no windows and is really close to the bedroom! I used to live in an apartment with the bed close to the oven and the bed got a smell to hamburgers lol
