You know damn well that if they release a heat ray version, they're just going to paint the dorsal spines and NOT include the heat ray, like the heat ray GMK. I've long given up expecting Bandai to give us any accessories with their Godzilla figures. Besides that, Minus One is a cool figure, I like mine.

Idk...if it had cost $85 here in the States, I think I wouldn't be as upset but for $140...it's really too much. The figure itself is looking fairly good. The paint could have been a bit better but I think where this figure truly lacks (aside from from the price lol) is the head sculpt design and no accessories. At least give us a train Bandai.

The dorsal plate that moves is adjustable due to the how the head is posed. It helps it look up

Looks great, it is interesting it has the fin articulation, the head isn't a big issue to me, but I'll wait for a heat ray version. It would be great if bandai included a beam effect.

​​@@PanMan123 yeah a heat ray, special color or decisive battle version don't guarantees a beam effect, I remember the sh monsterarts Godzilla (2001) heat Ray version didn't include any effect and the King Ghidorah KotM special color version also didn't include any beam effect.

They don’t do beam effects anymore it’s literally been a decade since they stopped doing that they’ve released multiple exclusives with beam effects but no wide releases even if they are atomic breath versions

I understand what you mean. However, if they got a clearance for such a version from TOHO, the ray would need the huge blast fireball and mushroom cloud on it which would be, obviously, too big and costly as an accessory.

Really appreciate the review. I ended up cancelling my preorder; for the crazy price they're asking for I at least expect the head sculpt to be as accurate and well done as the promo pictures. I will wait on a rerelease to see if they fix the head issues.

I already seen a few of these figures. You really lucked out with yours. On many the dry brushing was overdone and looked terrible. Then the right eye was printed incorrectly. So placement way off . So either cross eyed or almost on his cheek. Watch out for the moving dorsal plates on the neck which are there to allow him to look up. The tiny one can easily pop off. Supposedly the sculpt was supervised by the artist who really dropped the ball when it came to the head. For $140 really a hit or miss on quality which is standard for MonsterArts Godzillas sadly.

I love the design but this figure aside from fhe articulation has not met the bar. I had this preordwred but seeing all the qc issues and combining with zero accessories and that obscene price i cancelled. Im going tonhold out and wait for a hiya release.
