I own 1996 Legion version and 1999 Irys version; I missed out/skipped the 1995 release due to, issues financially and opinionated via earlier releases. My '96 has been used and abused but still articulates great while '99 is stiff as a rock (not in the bad way; just never posed him much). If I can find a '95 for a reduced, reasonable decent price then I would consider purchasing especially for the spinning effect parts and I agree with your statement. However there's hope via the Netflix Gamera anime, the newer '99 plus Irys (which I am considering) or future releases especially in the Showa era, maybe. Great review DiegoDoom as always!

Now wondering if this video should get an update replacing this 1999 figure with the re-release and adding the 2023 figure. In Steven's Toy Reviews' review of 2023 Gamera, he ended it by having all four posed up with ninja turtle weapons, which I think I just might do if I ever get the money.

In all honesty, I would want the 1999 version of Gamera mainly the upcoming new version with Iris. I love how ferocious Gamera looks since it deviates the most from the friendly look of his previous designs, what's cool is that it wont look too out of place if he sit next to Monsterverse Godzilla. So I say, Gamera 1999!

I enjoy my 1999 Gamera. Even if the teeth are messy, the rest of the body sculpt is nice. The shell especially looks amazing with the battle damaged detailing.

I think the gamera 1996 is the best with 99 being a close runner up. I like how the 96 capture the eyes and kind of goofy showa era of gamera but still had the hardened look of the new generation thay was fully realized in the 1999 version. So it was a good blend of the 2

I personally have 1999 and 1996. Which I got both for free. 1999 because it was sealed and missing the end of its tail and 1996 because I traded a Godzilla Birth Ver. for it and Godzilla 2019 Poster Ver.

Ouch, that Gamera 99 is weakest of the three by far. The other two, I’d be more than happy with. Probably would go for the first 96 Gamera though, as it looks less cartoony than the other version. Gamera 95 dos have a lot of cool accessories though.

The SHMA Iris looks sexy af. Now all we have to do is wait for them to make a Legion figure. Also I’m kinda hoping that the new Gamera would have the battle damaged stomach region from when Iris impaled him but they probably won’t 💀

1996: All-around best package 1999: Worst by far, there’s a reason the new version coming next year is essentially a total overhaul. 1995: Second best. Probably the most accurate to the respective original film.

I have the one from the 2nd movie and one day his left foot decided to randomly pop off and it refuses to go back on I have tried off and on for several years to get it to reattach. I finally got the foot back on only for the right leg to decide to pop off,because the ball joints are constantly moving while I try to apply pressure to snap it back into place it also refuses to reattach. Then to foot came off again because apparently it wasn't secure enough.

I got unlucky with my 1999 gamera because the joints suck and the tail/arms always fall off, to the point where I lost an arm piece, if any of you guys have replacements or know anyone who does have replacements please tell me 😢
