This video has me all nostalgic! It was filmed in my town. I was at this concert! Dierks came out while we were in line and met fans. My 22 year old self literally fan girl screamed when he shook my hand 😂. Still one of the best and most embarrassing moments of my life lol

I don't think this song could have ever been recorded or even written back in the days of Classic Country. To me, it leans more in the direction of the progressive country that came later. But, not so far that it hides or betrays its Classic roots. That is, it doesn't come across as almost a pop song. At least, not to me. In fact, I bet some of those past music greats that came later would have liked some of the newer music. I get a laugh out of this one little tidbit regarding this particular song. I used to talk to and email a friend of mine. We both like music. But, he had a lot more relatives in the south and southwest than I did. So, I think he felt more in touch with this kind of music. I was talking to him on the phone about this song, and that I liked it, at least 10 years ago. He knew the song I meant. But, he couldn't remember the name of the artist. When I told him it was 'Dierks Bentley', he corrected me right away: "Oh, yeah, Dirk Smedley. I've heard of him before". He sounded serious. I tried once to tell him the name I'd heard to him again. But, he just repeated his original version. I knew him well enough to just let it go. I never win in this arena. Besides, he likes to kid around quite a bit at times. He might have been pulling my leg. I love this happy sounding song. And I do think of that Smedley guy every time I hear it. In fact, I just now did a quick check on Wikipedia, to make sure the other spelling wasn't there. But, I think I'm safe--no Smedleys here. Lol.

Tessa; I've done it before, back in 2010. I 90 westbound is the longest stretch of BFE in the world, but the Pacific Ocean at dusk really DOES go on forever. Southern Hospitality is real, but Las Vegas in daylight is nothing but a lump of buildings in the desert...so much to see, so much to do. Forget a map, and any plans. Follow your heart and your instincts...

Andrew Ames Didn't go all the way around the country, but drove to Bozeman, Montana and Yellowstone National Park from Akron, Ohio. We were on I-90 westbound for nearly the whole trip, and you are right. I could skip Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, and Eastern South Dakota. However, getting off that particular road, we saw quite a few sights along the way. From the skylines of Cleveland, Chicago, and Minneapolis(and the mall of America, a must-see), to the windmills of southern Minnesota, the rolling hills (very surprisingly beautiful) of Wisconsin, the barren prairie of South Dakota, the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, the stunning alpine lakes and snow of the beartooth pass (U.S. Hwy 212), the geological features of Yellowstone National Park, and the wildly expansive river valleys and western lifestyle of Southwestern Montana.
