The way of explaination is so good. Your voice and actions keeps the viewers engaged. But I expected more technicality as I am an Automotive Engineering grad. The first point you mentioned is absolutely true but it should have been carry forwarded. Due to high compression ratio, the piston in Diesel engine has to move more as compared to Petrol engine of same capacity. This movement is compensated by a longer arm which connects the Piston and crankshaft. And as you know Torque= Force * Arm length. Even if you generate same force, The diesel has longer arm which accounts for more Torque. Also , due to more energy density the force produced by burning of Diesel is also more than Petrol. In short. Torque produced is more in Diesel engine of same capacity. But the Power is more in Petrol Engine. Because of shorter arm length which makes the Crankshaft to complete one rotation much faster than in longer armed Diesel Engine. Power = T * Rpm Since Rpm is higher in petrol it gives more power.

2 factors 1- long stroke engines are more fuel efficient including petrol (it gets full time to get fuel burnt and less rpm bcz of bigger crankshaft) 2- Diesel has more efficiency than petrol due to more longer hydrocarbon chain than petrol.

There is a another reason : Because of longer stroke length of diesel engines, the crank shaft diameter also need to be increased. and we know that Torque = Force x Perpendicular distance here distance is crank radius...and thus torque increases

Flash point and fire point has nothing to do with torque. The two reasons for higher torque of diesel engine are high compression ratio and higher calorific value of diesel ( i.e diesel will release more energy than same amount of petrol)

Mechanically possible sab kuch hai. Par uske liye aapko petrol engine ka size badhana hoga, better material use karna hoga, overall cost badhani hogi. To ek to upsizing dusra bahot jyada cost, jo ki petrol engines ko naa ki sirf unaffordable bana dega balki impractical bhi.

सर आप बहुत अच्छे से समझते है बहुत अच्छा समझ में आता है। पर ये वाला वीडियो देखने के बाद एक सवाल आया है मन मे जैसे हम इंजन स्टार्ट कर देते हैं तो वो पावर जेनरेट करता है और क्रैंक शाफ़्ट के माध्यम से वो पावर व्हील्स में जाती है लेकिन जब तक हम गियर नही डालते और क्लच का इस्तेमाल नहीं करते टैब तक गाड़ी आगे क्यो नहीं बढ़ती तो सर आप गियर , क्लच और इंजन आपस में किस प्रकार से कार्य करते हैं इस के ऊपर एक वीडियो बनाये प्लीज सर।

Nice explanation but technically weak at many places.Though the fire point of a diesel oil is 210*c but the compression temp.in a diesel engine goes as high as 600*c to 700*c.The increase in torque is because of higher compression ratio which increases the expansion ratio &increases the lever arm in the crank shift.Higher the compression ratio higher the lever arm so higher the torque.you should not forget about thermal efficiency. A petrol engine is only 25 to 28% efficient whereas a diesel engine efficiency goes as high as 35 to 40%.

Only correction on ignition temperature of petrol & diesel. Ignition temperature of diesel is higher than petrol. That's why petrol have more power and due to higher length of crankshaft get more torque in Diesel

The combustion in petrol engine is approximated using constant volume process while in diesel it is constant pressure process. This is partially due to slower combustion in diesel engine. I think this part of your explanation was not fully correct.

I doubt diesel firepoint is much higher than that of petrol.. petrol is highly volatile and easily catches fire .. is more flammable diesel or petrol? If you toss a lit match into a puddle of diesel fuel, it'll go out. That's because diesel is much less flammable than gasoline. In a car, it takes intense pressure or sustained flame to ignite diesel is statment from Google please clarify thanks

Any diesel engine is not pure diesel engine as concieved by Rudolph diesel.They are semi diesel engine as there is one hot bulb is provided which facilitates ignition at lower temperatures and do away with necessity of very high compression ratios and thus much bulkier engines.

Another reason : Almost all the diesel engines are turbocharged, which helps to generate more torque. Turbo petrol engines are in trend nowadays, turbo petrol engines can generate almost same level of torque as that of diesel engines

Nice video bhai. Mai aapke pehle reason se sehmat hu lekin aapka second reason mujhe thoda jama nahi. Diesel jaldi jalne ke waja se torque jyada aata hai aisa nahi lagta mujhe. Diesel engines mai compression ratio ke sath sath cut off ratio bhi jaruri hota hai. Cut off point wo point hota hai jab diesel fuel cylinder ke andar inject hona band hota hai. Isliye aap typical diesel combustion dekhoge toh usme combustion process actually thoda lamba chalta hai petrol se aur appko ek constant pressure maintain rehta hai cylinder mai during power stroke. Isliye diesel cycle ko constant pressure cycle bhi bola jata hai. Aur ek reason ye bhi hai ki diesel engines ka compression jyada hone ke karan stroke bhi jyada hota hai jiske waja se crank bhi bada hota hai. Aur ham sab ko maloom hai torque is force x distance. So crankshaft ke axis se big end( connecting rod ) ka distance jyada hone ke karan torque output jyada aata hai. Aur ek waja hai ki diesel fuel mai energy per volume jyada hota hai compared to petrol.
