The military put these in everything! 4-71 for small boats, forklifts and other equipment. The 6--71s were used in tanks, trucks buses, etc. The tanks and PT boats ran 2 6-71s. They went all the way to 16v 71 and the bigger newer brother 16v 92s are in heavy military trucks still.. You can find the 16v 71s in a lot of older gen-sets.

Back in the early 80s, my brother became friends with a guy in his diesel repair shop at NWTI in Green Bay Wisconsin. A few years earlier, his friends older brother was using a tractor with loader to move old concrete from behind their barn that they were adding onto. Their youngest brother who was 4 years old was riding on the tractor with him. It was lunch time so his mom asked his dad to let them know it was time to eat. When he came back into the house, all he said was; they're both dead. Stay safe my friend.

Your comment is kind of un due, it's G-d Who decides life and death, there is nothing man can do except repentance but at any case is a decree from heaven, don't make other factors the fault. Especially in the south where people are descendants of the ten lost tribes of Israel, if G-d forbids there is tragedy, its because of a grave sin, not because of a dad being with his son. I didn't know until a year or two ago that the tornadoes and the hurricanes and many tragedies occurr in the southern states and it's because the punishment for a christian is worse than of an ignorant sodomite in NY. Americans would do it well by returning to the law of Moses and leaving idol worship of a man, many are doing it already check tenakh talk and rabbi Tovia Singer

It is a 4-71, the giveaway for a 71 or 92 series engine are the big center bolts that hold the valve covers on. A 53 series has bolts around the perimeter of the valve cover.
@TugboatMatt
@TugboatMatt Жыл бұрын
@@DeathHead1358 there was never a inline 92 series, the only 92 series ever built are V engines. As for 53 series they use a single rectangular cover where the blowe would bolt on if it was installed on the opposite side. The valve cover bolts are not necessarily a way to identify them because late series 53 engines did have a central bolt valve cover similar to the 71 series but it did not have a thumb knob they only used a 3/8” 12 point wrench

The governor on this engine is a early Woodward SG governor (simple governor). Pretty easy to disassemble partially to check the rotating parts but you need to be careful of the preformed sealing ring between the oil pump and main body. The issue is more likely to be the stop handle being seized in the body just below the cover. You should be able to remove the cover separately as there 2 screws under the cover. The stop shaft is prone to corrosion when not used for a long time. Light wet and dry abrasive paper with oil polishing will help. Probably got manual for it somewhere on my computer.
