🇦🇺 Diesel Ford transit RV oil change

Yes I know, it's not a land rover - but my neighbor needed some help, and I like to be a good neighbor. This is relevant for a 2006 to 2012 ford transit 2.4L Diesel.

The owners manual should tell you what the lubricant capacity is, with and without the filter change. Usually I find the half way mark is where the level stays for the longest kilometers, fill it t it to the HIGH ,ark and it will quickly go down to the halfway. Don't ya love diesel lubrication.

I have one. They’re fun. But you must be mechanically inclined to own one, otherwise you’re not going to have the best of times.

Few things. I always have the oil cap off so there won’t be a vacuum when draining the oil and I always add a bit of oil to the filter before placing it back in. This is the first time I’ve seen a cartridge filter on the bottom of a motor. How many kilometers did he have on that oil?

@@RabbiJesus oil was very overdue, and cartridge filters are hard to prime. This one gravity primes as you fill the sump. I left the cap on to slow the flow to save my grass. Moot point as my bin was burnt a few days later and asassinated the same patch of grass.
