Good job getting the engine started. It would be nice to see the bunker restored to what it used to look like and maybe turn it into a museum. Charge a small fee to help pay for some of the maintenance. It is important to see how people used live and have to worry about the fear of war so the younger generations will not forget and the threat of war could return because of not remembering history. War and the fear of nuclear war is horrible, it is important that people don't forget this. It is much better and less expensive to live in peace.

I don't know how well it would go in former Soviet states, but nuclear disarmament in America had an interesting side effect. Former missile silos were bought relatively cheaply and turned into underground houses. Imagine having a 300 square metre garage. Just like this bunker, they were set up for military personnel to have somewhere free from radiation. One I know of is in Kansas, in the middle of what's known as Tornado Alley; the part of the mid-west where tornadoes will rip through town every year, with varying degrees of destruction. The owner of this bunker said he doesn't know about a tornado until the next morning because he doesn't hear a thing inside the bunker

"Reliable Russian technology". That phrase remembered me of other master piece of Russian engineering: Chernobyl NPP XD Deal with it. B) 😎
@ВадимБольшаков-б2ч9 жыл бұрын
Cristian Hugo Muñoz Campos Oh what you know about it? Where have you got information that problem was in "Russian technology"? I studied this question and know that problem was in nuclear plant manager who knew nothing about Russian nuclear plants like you.
@Ruhvi49 жыл бұрын
Вадим Большаков There was major issues with that reactor type, including: - easily flammable graphite - very unstable at low power - boron rods which were supposed to reduce power in the reactor, those rods ascended very slowly after the emergency button was turned and they were tipped with graphite which caused power surge and losing the control of the reactor. Also safety came second when reactor no.4 was build, main thing was to get it on and running as fast as possible which as you can imagine, it caused weaknesses into reactor buildings roof and safety cap, not strong enough materials were used. Also this safety test was supposed to execute BEFORE the reactor were ever taken online. It is true that the operators caused the explosion but if reactor were for example an VVER type, the accident wouldn't probably happened. So, soviet/russian quality engineering? Think not... It does not exist. The RBMK reactor poses serious threats to our world even today. Also there has been other accidents with that reactor type but they were able to hush up those, Chernobyl was different because Sweden's NPP authors spotted the high levels of radiation coming from USSR. Mayak's nuclear waste reprocessing plant is quite sad story also.
@ВадимБольшаков-б2ч9 жыл бұрын
Ruhvi4 You should understand that if a driver kickdowns Ferrari and dies smashing it to the wall on 200mph than the driver is an idiot, but not Ferrari engineers. Emergency boron rods and safety cap is the last line of defense but not the only. If you look at RBMK control panel, and if you are engineer that studied nuclear physics you should know that there is also "reactivity meter". RBMK controlling engineer knows how to use this value and that is why "Chernobil" doesn't happens on every RBMK. A lot of time has passed and there are better and safer ways to generate power. But I don't know any tech that possesses great power and is absolutely safe.
@NGC14339 жыл бұрын
Ruhvi4 Tell America about inferior russian technology immediately! They still fly their people to the ISS with russian rocket technology from 1967. Look up Soyuz system and deal with it. Japanese nuclear power tech isn't mutch better too, so to speak. Both Chernobyl and Mayak accidents were caused by negligence and irresponsibility, not technological faults.

If the video title is in the same language as the video content, nobody is mislead or frustrated because they know what to expect when clicking on the video. How would you like it if you walked into a store or something with signs in your native language, but all the employees inside speak a different language that you don't understand?
