Diesel Generator vs Propane Generator- Understanding Differences (Which Is the Winner?)

I went with a Kohler Propane Generator Kohler 30RCL 1800 RPM. My dad had large diesel unit's for his business in semi trailers. If I were running everyday like my dad did, diesel is the way to go. For home backup its Propane or natural gas. We put the unit in our house back in 2018 with a 1000 gallon underground tank. We used it very little until last year when Ian hit. We ran it 11 days 24hrs and only shut down every other day to check the oil and did one oil change. Propane is much easier to store for years at a time. Diesel fuel systems need very clean and no water in the fuel. Very hard to do in humid Florida. Also diesels don't like light loads for very long. Wet stacking is a big issue. Natural gas or Propane generators don't have wet stacking problems.

Im a diesel mechanic so i would like to have everything diesel around me definitely diesel is better

I'm retired military, one fuel for everything. When I started buying fuel Diesel was well under a dollar per gallon, a bit cheaper than gas at the time.

I've watched five videos so far on diesel generators and not a single one of them knew anything about what they were talking about. Apparently KZbin creators are so lazy they can't even study the subject that they're making videos about

Same here diesel is the way to go in generator. But get a good diesel not one of those cheap Chinese ones.
