Fyi unless it is the camera angle, it looks like the muffler is angled up. The muffler should be angled down or the water coming out of the exhaust will not be able to escape

Would this work with a Truma diesel heater. I have had mixed answers saying it needs to be direct feed from the tank. But the T piece is direct in my mind. I'm trying to avoid dropping my tank on my Vauxhall Movano.

Did you ever have any issues with this working for longer periods with the van off? Any fuel pressure issues?
@Freedom-projectsАй бұрын
@@timday9598 not personally no, as long as the tank is kept full enough I can’t see any reason why it would but I’m not a mechanic
@timday9598Ай бұрын
@@Freedom-projects perfect. Thanks! I wasn’t sure if the return line was valved at the end so it would only run while there is fuel in the return pipe.

Hi, which pipe did you put the T piece in for the feed to the heater pump, please? and all so how do you keep your voltage up above 12volts to ignite your diesel if you are not on mains while wild camping Many thanks. Andy.

In the video at 5 and 8 minutes for the traffic and 15 for the vivaro you will see the placement, it goes into the fuel return pipe which is the thinner of the 2 where they run alongside each other. I keep the power up on mine by using a leisure battery with a split charger and a solar panel. There are videos for both on my channel. Hope this helps!

thanks a lot for this video it's really helpful and informative. Would you possibly be able to tell if I can fit it in my 2015 vivaro? I Can also see two fuel pipes with same ( as far as I can tell comparing mines with the ones from your videos) fittings but I just wonder if there is anything else which could prevent fuel from flowing to the heater or it will mess up something with the Van fuel system just because it's newer generation of vivaro? Also did you have to drain the tank prior to fitting or I can fit it without draining the tank as fuel will not just start dripping once I disconnect the return pipe? thank you
@Freedom-projects8 ай бұрын
I’m not sure if any difference on the newer vivaro, it’s worked on older vivaros. The return pipe isn’t under pressure so will only drip a bit
@Freedom-projects8 ай бұрын
Don’t need to drain the tank
@garger228 ай бұрын
Thank you for your time to reply. I can see two pipes connected to the tank. One goes to the fuel filter so that must a supply pipe. The other one splits into two at some point. Both have connectors with red button on them but one pipe is thinner than the other so it's most likely that thinner one. The only thing is that i cant see that manual pump which you have been using at 8:40 and i wonder if that could be the problem or it should still be fine after i try to start the engine couple of times?
@Freedom-projects8 ай бұрын
@@garger22 I think it will be the thinner one, let me know! My vivaros didn’t have the hand pump either
@garger228 ай бұрын
I think i will try to fit it on that thinner pipe. I won't be too disappointed if it will not work but i just wonder if there is a risk i can mess up something with my vans fuel system? If in worst case scenario i will just have to remove splitter and use that little dedicated tank then thats fine the only thing which makes me a bit worried is that if there is any chance i can damage vans fuel system somehow. I cant see any obvious risk but if you know anything that could possibly damage the fuel system if its a wrong pipe or if vivaro 2015 fuel system works differently then i would appreciate your comments. Cheers

Hi, would like to ask if you have had any issues with fitting the T piece… Several people on a particular heater group have been less than positive when I stated unused this T piece rather than a line directly into the main tank… have you had any issues with smoking because of this?
@Freedom-projects5 ай бұрын
No sounds more like an engine issue. If it was fuel you’d get a error code

Hi, I'm thinking of doing something similar with my Vivaro under driver's seat. Have you had any issues with the flexible green pipe which some suggest should be replaced with hard plastic one? Also, what make of heater do you recommend as I've seen mixed reviews of the various makes. Kind regards. Steve
@Freedom-projects Жыл бұрын
Hi Steve I did swap the green for white on most of it, I left the Flexi green between the pump and filter as was a tighter turn. I’ve not had any trouble as far as I know with any heater though I do build them to sell. The Traffic I’ve had a year now and no problems- that one is maxpeeding rods but they are a bit dearer.
@09kaib Жыл бұрын
I installed my heater using the green fuel line, it lasted approximately 2.5 years before leaking. So although it will work, it's worth using the hard line just because of the hassle of changing it all out.
@Freedom-projects Жыл бұрын
@@09kaib I think that’s absolutely spot on. Do it right once.
