Ya know, now that you have an extra glow plug you'll never need it. How is it that inanimate object know if you have spare parts around and never break when you do? Weird people stoves. Keep the good stuff coming guys and have fun.

Some times life gives you lemons and you probably spent time traveling to get your stove fixed….but you are on an adventure and stayed in a nice looking impromptu camp site, had some good looking food and met some nice people…and had your stove fixed. Such is life some times.

I’d be like you, I would have driven to his shop instead of waiting a day. Glad it was a simple fix.

Glad that we didn’t meet your truck under the railway bridge in Pewsey. Cool to see you drive through our village!

I service my own 87d unit and find that if you remove the burner can and completely clean it and also find a small drill to clean out the fuel needle tip as well it is most of the problem. I always replace the glow plug with a new one at the time because the 87d is a pain to disassemble. That works about every 6 months. About every year if you are a full time user you will need a new combustion fan and about every 2 years a heat/flame sensor. On the 87d it has an oven with the same burner system but it doesn`t need even half the servicing as the stove. I think because the oven control works via a thermostat the heating is more constant and won't produce as much soot. We have taken to leaving the stove control at the halfway mark and not adjusting the control at all. Also not turning it down to a lower setting before shutting down so the fan blows air into a still very hot burner, thinking this will help burn some soot away. This seems to make the whole unit run better for longer between services,,,

I’m like you too, take action to solve the problem. The time you do nothing, they tell you “yeah we have to physically have the unit here… come on in… next week…” In my experience if I showed up people tend to be a bit more flexible in these emergency situations.

So I choked on my water... Whadya mean England doesn't celebrate July 4th, Independence Day, like the US does!?!?! Huh, who knew! Glad you guys squared away the stove/heater easily enough. Stay safe and continue having fun!

Loved see the drive up there and the campsite looked nice and quiet. Driving on the left with the roundabouts looks so different than ones I experienced in Australia. Glad you were able to get it fixed and learned about it.
