What a tedious job to make the hinges work. You did a great job of lining up the body lines in my opinion. Where did you get the gantry assembly from and is it sturdy enough? Thanks for the long video.

The assembly we got from the 2016 6.7 Powerstroke donor truck! And everything seems to be sturdy. We’ve open and closed this hood a million times to get make sure it opens smoothly, and we haven’t had any issues with flexing!

@@SmokinJoe I was talking about the rolling crane assembly you used to help hold up the hood at one point. I was thinking about getting one from Harbor Freight to pull engines in my barn. I was wondering if you thought it was sturdy enough. Thanks.

Oh I’m dumb haha I thought you meant something else! That crane assembly was purchased at Harbor Freight and it works really great! It’s picked up 6.7 Powerstroke engines, axles, lifted up the entire front end of this truck, and it’s done it with ease. It’s on wheels so it’s mobile, and they lock. As long as you keep your weight centered and stay on flat ground, it works really well!
