So step 1 ring the alarm & remain calm, & step 2 after u ring the alarm push the call button, it will call 911. & then tell the dispatcher that u r stuck in an elevator & u need the fire department to rescue u & get u out of the elevator. & that’s it that’s all u have to do to get out of an elevator

this is similar to what happened to me at the North Garage at Fairview village in one of their Thyssenkrupp signa4 elevators but except for I was in there for about 20 minutes the last time but I had just about gotten stuck in it a few other times and I thought I was going to have to call the fire department. I pressed and held the alarm like you did in this video.

When I was young, I watched this and thought you actually got stuck… However, I recently figured out it was fake. Numerous times during the video, you can see him looking behind him to turn the stop key. On the up ride, before you can see the glass, you can see his hand on the panel, and him looking back to turn the stop key. Also, when the elevator is “stuck”, you can see the stop switch is in the middle, but when the elevator starts moving again, you can see that the keyhole is a lot closer to the “run” section

Hydraulic elevators not properly maintained and low on fluid will fail when the elevator gets to the top floor. Bouncing the elevator will force some fluid back into the pump. You sound like you were panicking.

Starting at 4:02 - The position of the Keyhole is in between the Stop/Run button up until 11:52, when it goes back closer to the Run side of the button. This Guy ain't slicker than me! 😂

Exactly. And the fact that all elevators in the USA have a phone in them and he pressed every button EXCEPT the call service center button... Which is what you're supposed to do when you get stuck in an elevator. Always remember that ALL ELEVATORS HAVE PHONES! It might be a call button like in this elevator, but he carefully avoided pushing it. Or it might be behind a panel on the wall of the elevator with a picture of a phone.
