I know this comment is old but I just wanted to say: I work in a building with 3 sets of elevators on either side, one side on the right hand side after walking through the front lobby are the freight elevators for construction workers/equipment, and on the left hand side are elevators designated for employees and I was curious one day and stayed inside the elevator when descending to the ground floor. The door opened but I didn't get out, so it closed like normal, waited for 5-10 seconds, then started moving to the floor that it came from by itself.

The elevator at 1:48 is one of the 3 at my work. ( Greater Nevada Field, Reno NV) the reason it doesn’t work for that guy is because we lock the elevator to the second floor when we don’t have any events going on. That way we can control who can come in or out of the ball park.

The elevator came by and for some reason the restrictor couldn’t hold the door shut, and when the elevator passed the next floor, it tripped the interlock. If an inspector saw that during an inspection, the elevator would be immediately red tagged and shut down.

My building has a Mitsubishi and that I live in the 10th floor it is impossible for me to use stairs everytime. Plus it’s a Mitsubishi. It has malufunctined very less. While going down, it ramdomly safety breakers and stops at the nearest floor, and then Idles. Then we have to click the G floor once again, . Happens like 0.50% of the times....

The elevator at 3:55 is a employees access only elevator since it has a badge reader , all hospitals have them and they service off limits areas of the hospital such as the morgue , rooftop helipad and Operating Room Suites i used to work at a hospital and had to use similar ones but ours had keypad input with it for verification that it was an employee gaining access to them.

Looks like it was caught on the outer door latch while trying to move upwards, the inner door dried to open or someone opened it, it shot up. Then emergency breaked because the inner door circuit broke. Just my guess

I remember when I was younger the elevator in my building (Pomonok Houses NYCHA , Flushing, NY) became a run away elevator with a UPS man’s hand truck and parcels. It would go down to the first floor open and immediately close, go to the 2nd floor do the same thing so on and so forth. I forgot how they stopped it.
