Time line forward I was called into a meeting with my supervision, union, and HR. The charge, was continued harassment and I almost lost my job of 30 years. I explained the situation, and explained " I did not know trying to teach some one the job they applied for was considered harassment". After, I told supervision I will not train anyone going forward. Nothing in my union contract says I'm a trainer, nor do I get paid to do so.

These people wanted the pay, but, didn't want to do the work. Wander around playing on cell phones, showing up late, disappearing. Spend 1/2 a day explaining training material, and review the following day and they were clueless of any training the previous day. Asked "did you read your book last night" the reply was "I don't get paid to do FN home work" I had to finally approach supervision and told them "I'm wasting my time with the folks" It gets better.

Different industry here. However, you have one of two trainees. Those that want to learn and those that just want the money and do the minimum. I train in my job and was extremely spoiled by receiving trainees who wanted to know everything on the first day. These folks turned out fantastic, in the end, would explain their decisions, I said great! Exactly the one I would have made. Then I got a group of losers.
