Thank You... It does not surprise me that it hears so well, Sherwood Engineering lists it high on the list of tested receivers.

My 515 is my go to radio on many occasions! The memory unit is a great companion but need to remember to replace the internal battery’s that hold the memory channels! I also have the remote keypad NCM-515!! That Came with the special 2 way adapter that plugs into the back of the 515 radio so you can operate both the memory unit and keypad at the same time

Very nice! I need you to add a 4.0khz filter to my AUX position!

@@dieselten01 mine came with all the filters installed. I know that it requires a special type of filter to work correctly! Not sure they are made anymore??

Interesting..how does the Icom 705 compare with the Racal ra6217 and ra6790GM ? Thank You. 😊
@dieselten013 ай бұрын
The 705 is a great radio but its greatness comes from doing what it does in such a portable package. The Racals are 30-40 lbs. the 705 has an awesome scope too. But if you know where the signal is and are just using radios on the bench, the Racals will probably perform a little better.

What has weight got to do with it could be two tonnes and crap
@dieselten013 ай бұрын
@@martinryan5069 apparently you can’t see the forest, because the trees are in the way. Try and bring a 6790 with you on a hike to a remote spot with no RFI.

Just saying a heavy radio doesn't make it a good receiver
@anandarochisha3 ай бұрын
@@martinryan5069 I guess the Idea is that "base station" performance and "mobile" station performance remain mutually exclusive. I have base station units and was wondering if a mobile unit has matched the performance of my rack mounted receivers. So that is what weight has to do with it.
