Excellent! Good work and some funny bits. I have one suggestion for you. Use torque plates instead of welding the stack together. It keeps a continuous even pressure on everything during the first heat/bonding cycle. If you have a hydraulic press, use it when bolting the torque plates together. A vice works well, but a press is definitely the best. I'm going to check out your other vids. See ya.
@DiesInEveryFilm
@DiesInEveryFilm 5 жыл бұрын
I actually tried torque plates prior and destroyed the plates thats why i went with welding these together. Unfortunately don’t have a hydraulic press yet or id definitely have used it. Thanks for watching

seems like you got some tips from Alec Steele. I also watch him too many times. From your last video mistake, I found that we both made the same mistake by using different thickness of the material. I think that's the main reason for those delaminations. Tomorrow going to use canister Damascus because I don't have tig welder to hold them permanently. hope my 9th attempt get succeeded. But you did a badass job this time and that looks very beautiful piece and inspires me a lot.

Nice video man, and nice workshop! I am hoping to try making some Mokume Gane with copper and nickle hopefully soon, need to get a small Rail Track Anvil and a bigger hammer.... I only have a kiln or might try my Oxy-Propane torch for heating it. Might even make a small Forge to do it, dunno yet space is a big problem, I have no garage and the really hot work has to be done in the back porch *which I have claimed and taken over as my getto Garage lol* The plan is hone my skills on the cheaper metals, then move to Silver and Copper. I'm a self taught Silver Jeweller and also from Scarborough. Liked and Subscribed :)
