100% Agreed. I think we as “academically minded people” especially in the hard sciences and engineering will see health as almost not a part of our core identity. But in reality staying healthy and exercising will only help mental clarity, and thus research and coursework outcomes

Very timely release haha. I have just graduated from my PhD program in June and started to pay attention to my diet and exercise 4 weeks ago. I am about to start my post-doc in 1 month and I hope I can maintain these healthy habits.

Walking is way better than running. To get rid of back pain, strengthen your backside muscles. Weight lifting is great too. It's great what you are doing. I am a graduate student and I don't see that many fit academics, so it is much needed advice. Cheers. 😊
