Now "Safety Officer" in an industry is one of the key posts. Accordingly the company has to maintain his status. To suit his status; of course a matching salary is always paid. In countries where appointment of Safety Officer is made a statutory requirement facilities to be provided to him is also prescribed and it will be of executive level. Thanks for asking.

Dear, As u have told that safety officer can't explain the actual reason of ladder 4:1 ratio, but safety engineer can, for your kind of information both are same and both responsibility also same, only different is there that if safety personal background is from engineering than he will safety engineer and if safety personal have non eng. Digree only he have safety qualification like diploma in safety or bsc in safety than he will be safety officer, and for your kind of information it's depend on company that which post they have means they appoint safety guys as a safety officer or as a safety engineer.. It's only company terminology nothing else.

My 50 years of working in occupational safety and health especially as an international trainer I learnt a little and tried to put it into these videos. Dear sir, I have done BE mechanical engineering and done nebosh , iosh and medic.. i have 2 year of Quality engineering experiance and 4 years of safety officer experiance .. also i have one year gulf experiance as a safety supervisor.. My question is these are okay for getting a safety engineer job in india.. pls let me know.. Waiting for your advice..

In Middle East labor law do not prescribe any qualification where as in India Factories Act/Rules prescribe the qualifications for appointment of Safety Officers. With your degree in Engineering you have to go for a state government approved one year post Diploma in Safety to be considered for appointment as Safety Officer.

There is no good or bad courses. It is the spirit with which one studies that makes the course good or bad. If your aspiration is to become a successful safety professional you study well what you study. There is ample scope for competent safety professionals now. BSc in industrial safety too has its place. Good luck.
