South Africa is a country, Southern Africa is a subcontinent consisting of South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Zambia, Malawi and the island nations of Madagascar, Mauritius and Réunion.

That's why South Africa 🇿🇦 deserves a real name like South West Africa got renamed Namibia 🇳🇦 after getting INDEPENDENCE in 1990.The only good thing is that South Africa 🇿🇦 got DEMOCRACY in 1994 so the flag 🇿🇦 changed to what it is now.Here in South Africa 🇿🇦 there were 4 provinces before 1994 then in mid 1994 they divided into 9 provinces that's why some have geographic position names like Northern Cape, Western Cape and Eastern Cape which before 1994 was one Cape Province.When Transvaal seperated it became North West,PWV, Mpumalanga and Northern Transvaal.Then in 1995 Northern Transvaal became Northern Province,PWV became Gauteng then Northern Province became Limpopo in 2001.There were suggestions to rename it Azania which is Swahili for South or Mzansi which is Zulu for South.

No ❌ I'm from South Africa We not different from southern Africa. South Africa , kingdom of Eswathini, kingdom of Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia 😂 All southern countries is the same - it used to be one Land mass up until colonial borders Only thing making us different. Is the colonial borders that's all .

That’s pretty obvious. But, South Africa as a country does not include other Southern African countries. The video simply points out that they are different geopolitical entities that govern themselves independently of South Africa, despite the geographical proximity and shared history.
