It's a matter of scale. Easier to risk things when you really aren't financially at risk. Poor or middle class have to still work hard to save anything thats lost. And for most part there is no middle class. Class of being poor is not only under 20k. It's a lot higher than that.

A middle class person doesn't come to a piece of commercial real estate and say, "What if the tenant leaves tomorrow?" The middle class person looks at that piece of commercial real estate and says, "I don't know what or how to do with this commercial real estate, and I don't have 3x the money my house costs to invest in it. Besides, I need to put gas in my car. Can I fill my car, or just put half a tank in and get some groceries with the money that would fill the other half of the tank?"

I am young but I realized this recently. My parents say they will never become rich, they always stress about money. But they explicitly say they will never get rich and they don’t have the money to become rich. I am broker than they are and I know I can work my way to wealth.
