A null set is the same thing as an empty set. It just means that there are no elements that meet the criteria. For example, A={ 1, 2, 3, 4} and B = {1, 2, 3, 4}, if I did A - B ={ } it would end up being a null set.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking. I would create a Venn Diagram of the original sets, then to find something like A-C, you would look for circle A and eliminate the part of the circle that C overlaps.

The f is in set C, since we are doing B - C, we are looking for letters that are only in B, but not in C. Since f, is in set C it is not part of the answer. If you were doing C - B, then it would be part of the answer. Hope that makes sense.
