Neighboring bachelor farmer had the only MM for miles around. He was a little, stubborn German and my DAD said he had the only MM just to be contrary. It was a very reliable tractor for him.

I have 3 4-Stars. One gas model my grandfather bought new(1960ish with a million hours on it) and then I found two more in 2016. One gas model that has very few hours on it. So few it still has the hood ornament. Something I didn't even know MM installed. The other 4-Star is an LP model of which very few were made. All three have different models of fenders. My grandfather also bought a UB Special which changed hands several times and is now owned by a neighbor who restored it. My Dad had a Model Z which is in some fencerow by now. I wish I knew where it was. All of the 4-Stars are funtionally working tractors. They can push brush with 80 hp tractors. I keep one hooked up to a 3-point post hole digger. The LP model has had lots of changes over the years(someone stuck what looks like Massey 3-point arms on it). When I build my new shop the restoration begins on all 3.

U, UB and UB Special all used the same PTO. UB and UB Special had a small lever under the seat. The live PTO was a lever attached to the left hand brake.@@TeresaJohnson-ew4us

My Dad had a '56 UB diesel from new until traded in around '69 for a used '67 M670. Originally was a narrow front and then converted to wide front. From what I was told, it got some add-on hydraulics at some point from the local blacksmith.

I believe you can date early fifties U by the belt engagement levers . I believe the last monoblocs and cast steering wheels went out on the industrials with the outboard brakes.
