I know is a little big late for this comment but I’m glad to find this channel since I’ve been into this subject so I want to add a valuable info ‘cause some people are disappointed and confused about the results and with the tabu about developing arthritis this is absolutely not truth since arthritis is commonly start for malformation, trauma that are not corrected on time’ when you planning to get this kind of surgery just make sure IF you need some limb or bone correction do that first why because if you do the height lengthening fist not correcting other deformities you going to develop any arthritis pain and it’s not because of procedure but for the correction issue. The farma just make us believe this by not treating the rute cause that is mostly on the develop through the skeleton growing stage. Having said that during the lengthening process you’ll see more impact in gain more cm of height. I hope this comment help a lot!!

When I was 5 years old I had Blounts disease which is a disorder of the growth plates in the bones around the knee. I had the 2nd pins shown in the video and the scars are deep. I have two deep scars. I'm 30 years old and have never worn a skirt,shorts or anything short enough to notice the scar near my knee. I remember the pain I went through til this day especially when it was time to clean the area. Bad memories 😔

I feel so empathetic for you as I know what external fixator is like too. It leaves lifetime scarring but I'm glad you're out of the pain now. I did have some of my scars lined up years later during my second procedure. I wonder if it would be possible for you

@@Cyborg4Life I was thinking on seeing a scar revision cosmetic surgeon but I'm waiting on that. I have faith that someday I can at least close the deep crater scar. Realistically I do know that I will have some type of scar forever but I don't want it to be as deep. I want it closed so like that maybe I can cover it up with makeup or with a symbolic tattoo. As of right now make up doesn't even cover because it's a deep crater scar that's 3 inches in length and 2inches in width. Only in one knee because I had Blounts in one leg only. If I go to a pool I use a knee sleeve to cover it up. If I want to look nice for an occasion I usually would wear over the knee boots or a long dress with the right side slit. I mean I do it all just to cover that scar😔 ..... Thanks for reaching out to let me know about your scars and how you lined them up. Hi there, so you can get 8cm on the femur or 5-6cm on the tibia. The risks are muscle contractures mainly but the others are negligible with a good doctor. Yes you can get back to training after you rehab well and regain your full ROM in the joints and practice your new lengthened limbs

I’ll share with you why I chose the betzbone over the precise: If everything runs well with precise, all the info showed in the video is accurate. BUT, the internal electronic mechanism inside the nail comes with a risk: the motor needs to have metals prone to rust. It has happened that (because of for example, pressure change in a plane) blood and other fluids get inside the nail despite the seal and that derives in an infection inside the bone. So, you can imagine, that could turn very nasty. That risk is not present in the betzbone given that the whole nail is made from only one stainless metal and the distraction is purely mechanical. It is true that clicks can be activated by accident, but as long as you keep record of it and balance it on the other leg, it is as much as precise than the precise (no pun intended xD). And it is less expensive. Cheers! :)

Interesting. I'll have to look more into it

@@Cyborg4Life could you please make a video about betzbone since stryde nail has been recalled, the betzbone nail is the only full weight bearing nail at the moment. Please make a video on body proportions in relation to limb lengthening, is it OK to have tibia length equal to femurs, planning 5 cm on tibia, concerned about body proportions, also is it safe to have this surgery in your early 30s
@Cyborg4Life4 жыл бұрын
That's a good topic. I know I've touched on it previously that yes proportions will change after LL but from a lot of people I've talked to including doctors, they don't seem concerned that it causes any unwanted problems if that helps. Yeah, assuming you have no problematic health issues you will be fine doing so in early 30's as I know many doctors who have done patients mid 40's and up.
