it also goes well with meat soups, the fresh leaves & stalks you can cook with ginger, onion, garlics, fried fish & coconut milk, or dry the leaves cook it the same way or even pack it in air tight containers for future use. that is how it is usually done in Asia. thank you, I learned a lot from you!

Yes we liked your video. We have a tropical landscape it NC that got out of control with weeds so we are resetting about 900 canna lillies. The day lillies and tiger lillies shaded out the weeds so fortunately they stay as is. We had elephant ears but they picked up their dirt and ran away one night. Being that they were $35 each it would be expensive to replace. Switching to grocery store Taro at $1 for two tubers. They are small so we will likely root the tuber as one piece but your video is great info if the asian market stocks large Taro roots. The elephant ears made a large yellow flower which we may miss but the price is right on the Taro. We add a SMALL amount of peroxide when rooting in water like 2 oz/ gallon which seems to help.

What are your thought on buying taro plant from the nursery to propagate from and eat?
@AAHomeGardening
@AAHomeGardening 3 жыл бұрын
MC Chamblin, depends on where you live As here in UK, you won't find the edible ones on sale They will sell us the 'elephant ears' flowers So if you're living in a warm area, I guess you can chance it and get the nice edible ones to eat Or better yet, if you're living in warm area, find a local gardener that has it and get a shoot/bulb off them
