Timing belt in the 2.0 TDI is guaranteed for 210.000 km by Audi. Multitronic is rubbish and expensive to repair. Other common fault on the 2.0 TDI is the electronic water pump which fails at about 100.000 km. You will notice it by the yellow engine sign on the board. It costs about 250 euros. Also, another strange thing of the 2.0 TDI (pre facelift) is that in winter, when temperatures are below 0 celsius, the engine will struggle to maintain the heat level at 90 celsius. Mine has 140.000 km and I am satisfied for now :)

Absolutely love your reviews. Please do the "cost reduction" comparison between the C7 and the older C6!
@tehgzizlauw178711 ай бұрын
FYI for anyone wondering, the cost reductions in my experience come in the form of lighter materials in the doors and panels. The doors on the C6 for example feel "heavier" and have substantial heft when you close them. On the old C6 the doors feel like vault doors, unlike the C7 which feels a lot lighter and "cheaper" dare I say. But this issue isn't necessarily exclusive to the C7 Audi, it's something that's happening with all Audis BMWs and Mercedes etc. And you won't really notice it unless you owned both a C6 and a C7, or you're comparing side by side. On the plus side though, the C7 is a larger and more comfortable car, and is about 100lbs lighter than the C6 I believe
@Music4all4every1Ай бұрын
@@tehgzizlauw1787 I feel exactly the same and it's such a shame you don't have those tank doors anymore on these newer models.. But then again modern cars are getting heavier and heavier so they do have to find places where they can trim some weight. However, you go to latest generation / post-2014/6 models like C8/B9, and the interior quality is straight up rubbish. IMHO, last model generations that are worth are C7/B8.5

Fun to drive. Lots of torque because it’s diesel and the gas mileage is fantastic. Average around 34-42 highway. Take car of the car, it will take car of you. Love taking long distance trips. To be honest, the point you have made about MultiTronic transmission it's a stereotype, that all people had from the previous C6. I am myself an owner of C7 3.0tdi 245Qtr and i feel that worse transmission is S-TRONIC than Multi. As long as you service Multi well is very good and reliable gearbox. Whereas S-tronic is good until it crashes they payments can go over 2.000euro. It works perfect gearbox, however to maintain it to work well, its a big challenge.

Dynamically driven 8.2l/100km highway and 11.5l/100kms city. No issues at all. I change the engine oil at half the nominal interval as I am paranoid of cam chain/tensioner/guide wear problems (this work which would require the engine removed. :( ). I use Liqui Moly 5w-30. I use CRC - GDI IDV intake valve cleaner every second oil change to minimise the GDI inlet port coking. The ZF 6HP AT is also running without issues with 60,000km oil changes with the recommended ZF oil.

Lately I have dug some of the most dramatic failures in EU A6/A7 (4G) S-Tronic cars.1) Injector gaskets may start to leak, causing the injector(s) to burn out. Could be fatal to your engine. Costly to repair afterwards. 2) S-tronic gearbox oil cooler fails and the coolant mixes with the oil. This causes gearbox and mechatronics to fail and the repair cost is insane. 3) S-tronic gearbox mechatronics fails on its own. 4) S-tronic gearbox clutch fails. 5) S-tronic flywheel fails (if ignored, usually gearbox failures are connected to one another and the whole gearbox has to be replaced). 6) As said in previous posts - the timing chain with tensioner should be replaced at every 100 000-150 000 km. 7) Air suspensioon is a no-no. 8) Electronics failures - MMI, sensors etc.

This is the first review to advise air suspension on a used car and is a no-go. Too expensive to fix. As for other problems: Rattling on V6 diesel on cold starts - if it is only for few seconds, then it is OK. Many have changed timing chain with tensioners and rattling sound went back after 40-60k km. V6 diesel oil leak - that`s a major let down. Upper oil pan leak is very common - caused by aluminium bolts wearing due to heat extension and shrinking after cooling. That`s an engine out work! Extensive labor bill. S-tronic - I would check it thoroughly on pre-facelift cars. Clutch and mechatronic problems are common.

I have air suspension , and its not Audi , its cheap Citroen air suspension , its the only thing that was never repaired , engine also but one part in it was broken had to be replaced , so its 2005 , i have it from 2009 , so about 8-9 years , in a 13-14 year old Citroen C5 , air suspension is holding . Not a thing changed . I lost oil when rubber tubing failed , filled it up , changed the oil and its running . I have 300 000Km with it but i suppose it was reseted in import , so its probably close to 400 000Km , that is a lot . Nothing broke on Air suspension, its still Riding and cheaper to maintain then Audi , but im looking for a new Car , used one off course , i have Audi A3 , very stiff and packed , not much space in it , compared to Citroen C5 , Citroen Owns A3 in every aspect except , speed , and build quality . Handles better on the road . But hay its a small audi , off course it better on the road then big Citroen C5 . So i dont think that air suspension is a problem . Or the Citroen really knows how to make those , ive seen a lot of them , no one is complaining , they even had to remove it from new Citroen C5 , because it doesn't brake down , I guess Audi can make those designed to fail , like Mercedes does . Planed obsolescence , but i don't know . I dont have Air suspension Audi for 9 years , but i do have air suspension on Citroen C5 tho

@differentcarreview-dcr2 жыл бұрын
there is no need to worry that much, this generation of CVT is more reliable than in the previous generations, so with regular oil changes it can easily last more than 200 000 km so make sure you change the oil in it every 60 000 km and use only genuine oil in it

I wouldn't worry too much if it's maintained properly. In Germany they drive these cars up to 300 000km and I've even seen some at 500 000k but Germans REALLY look after their cars, most of them at least. I'm sure that with proper maintenance you should be just fine.

One common and annoying problem that these cars have is the seat adjustment controls. Mine came with the lumbar support button panel unplugged from under the seat and one of the motor's wire was loose. Only bad thing that happened is that MMIs are little bit shit and I realized that the car could be totalled and repaired in the past years, paint is good but the dullness of a black paint seem to be little bit different on some body parts. Just drove one of these today. It was a testdrive from a dealer. I was shocked about the Interieur! Cheap plastic used mostly, the stearing wheel was worn after 100 thousand km. It is a facelifted Model from 2014 with a great v6 tdi but my more cheaper Opel insignia has better buildquality than this car. I really don't see the point of playin over 30 thousand Euro for a older car than mine just because its an Audi. Or am I wrong? I mean sure it has a great engine, but thats all from my point of view.

What problem I am facing from A6 c7 2012 3.0 from 50k KM to 90k KM 1)engine mounting gone bad at 50k km 2)steering rack need to be change at 55k km. And now, at 90k km it's going bad again with some annoying knock. The knocking has been confirm not coming from lower or upper arm, or Bush, or anything related cos I just replace everything all at once but knocking sound still there especially when turning the wheel or go onto a rough bump and uneven oad. 3) engine light popped up for no reason randomly, have everything check but they told all are good. 4) headlight sway or turn assist totally out at 70k km 5) leak tail light at 55k km. Repaired and it leaks again after few months. Ended up buying an aftermarket copy from China at $60 new, compared to original audi $600. Works great until today. 6)all kind of error and 'Christmas light' popped up if someone seat in the middle rear seat. Clean the relay, and the unit under the rear seat, so far so good now already 2 years. 7) unsolved very bad rattling/vibration when turning the wheel on full when making a u turn. It's very bad. Audi specialist said its common quattro issue, asked me to change and flush axle oil, but still the same. Other workshop said its common, but I don't think so. I didn't happened years before. I'm guessing it's the steering rack. 8)rattling on dashboard. Fed up on rectifying it, so I just ignore it until now. 9) worn 2 front strut at 60k km! That's how crazy fragile it is. 10) unsolved malfunction rear heater. Audi told me that most probably the module in the rear trunk gone bad, most probably by accident. Yeah, the problem is the car have not gone into any accident. 11) during mild heavy rain, driving 80kmh seems dangerous even though it is a quattro. Always get hydro planning. Shop said I might have a bad rims, check all rims, balancing and alignment, everything was OK, but still doesn't solve the problem. I have few other cars and the cheapest one is my old suzuki swift, funny thing is, it handle really well in heavy rain than my A6. Same road, same speed, same heavy rain, and I think it is twice lighter than A6? Note that i have a fussy family, I drive really carefully, always slow down on bump, and I think I never went into a hole that will make my strut, arm, Bush, rack etc to worn out that quick. It's a great car, especially when u are cruising on the highway, very fast car. But it seems like this car parts are made of fragile glass. Everything goes bad really quick. But I hope mine is just a 'lemon unit'. Selling it soon before It give me more headache.
