Sir I think I got an easier solution for 3rd question: g'(X)=g(y)g'(x-y)---- eqn 1 X=0 and y=3 a=g(3)g'(-3) Now in eqn 1 substitute X=y g'(X)=g(X)a Hence g(3)= g'(3)/a Therefore g'(-3)= a²/b

Sir at 15:30 We can solve the que. without actually finding the fxn .. Sir after first derivative... We can put x=3,y=3 ...and v can obtain g(3)=b/a... Then we can put x=0 and y=3 And obtain g'(-3)=a*a/b Very simple and easy....

Bro its really wonderful that you found an easy method by some mathematical manipulation to solve the question.but it is not always going to be so easy that you will be able to solve by these kind of manipulations .This is why sir has shown us a general method of finding the function itself and calculating derivative afterwards.

14:38 Doing this by differentiating and substituting 1. x=0 and y=3 2. x=3 and y=3 and solving the two equations would make the question much shorter

At 15:45 I wonder wether it was necessary to prove that g(x) > 0, for every x, in order to be able to divide by g(x) and then write log(g(x))? Any idea?

at 45:38, the function can be linear for some region and be non linear for other right? Like, say a piecewise function, how can we say that f is always linear?
@siddhartharaja9413
@siddhartharaja9413 4 жыл бұрын
We can't have non linear function(piecewise) since f((x+y)/2)=f(x)+f(y)/2 must hold for all x,y €R ,in case of non-linearity at any point ,the given condition gets invalid ,hence only linearity is possible!

Content is good. But pronunciation is little erratic. Derivative is pronounced as f’ (f primed) and not f dash.
