Great! My pleasure. You can find more examples in my new ebook. The free download link is in the description. I've had a few comments from Curtin students today and am always delighted to learn of fellow Aussies watching my videos.

Greetings and thanks from Curtin in the west. You have clarified how my Materials 337 lecturer has "compacted" a page of calculations into 3 lines in his notes! Your video has been most helpfull.

I see that this lecture is a longer version of the other one associated with the free youtube e-book. Is there a link on your website for these extended notes? Or are they only afforded to students in the course? Thanks in advance.

@newmusashi1 Here at UNSW there is a special day each year called "Foundation Day" which celebrates the origins of the university. On this particular day students do unusaul things, such as bringing beers into my lectures. At the end of the class it's been common to share a few drinks with my students..........Never blunts, though.......yet..........

Is there anywhere I can see how the Liebniz Rule #2 is derived? It is not clear to me how and why the extra terms come about...
@DrChrisTisdell9 жыл бұрын
+WA5CVI It's an application of the Chain rule. I don't think I have a proof up, but that is what drives the extra terms.
@sshannon19489 жыл бұрын
yes, I believe you said that in the video...

If I think of the integral of f(t,x) dt from t1 =u(x) to t2 = v(x) as simply a vanilla function of x, u and v, then to take the derivative of that function requires 3 terms: a derivative wrt x, a derivative wrt v, and a derivative wrt v. Hence the three terms of Liebniz Rule #2 (for the more complicated form where limits are functions of x). I have done some more research since I wrote this. I was confused about three terms....

@jsm666 Thanks for this. Fatherhood is great! [But it also means no there's no time to proof-read descriptions. ;-)

"shows how to differentiation" - how to differentiate, or how to perform differentiation, perhaps? Good to see another vid from you, though. :) How's fatherhood treating you?
