I'm not so sure about that. I'm African and I make twice that amount or more, but it's not like you wear it like you do skin color. Often you won't even get to the point of the girl or her family getting to know you. It's honestly terrible. I've seen good girls marrying really bad guys, just because they're from the same tribe. I've seen mothers pushing their daughters towards guys because they're lighter skinned than them, even though they know absolutely nothing of the man's character or ability to provide.

Saying "Men are Polygamous by Nature" is against Islam..? Why do almost all Scholars claim that men are polygamous by nature with no Islamic claim? This makes men think it's okay to open doors and feel for multiple women, when in the west, where everyone is treated "equally" women are equally polygamous, cheating on their husbands, for "fun" not for "love or emotional" reasons as many put it. This means that both sexes are vulnerable in the same way. I think the society allows men to behave this way or think this way, because it's a male dominated world, and they supressed women since the beginning of time, when in the end, both men and women are the same, committing the same sins. However, the world makes it okay for men to be this way, claiming its their nature. Ever wonder why Muslim parents will abandon their daughters forever if they caught them speaking to a guy but will not do anything if their son goes out and sleeps around with women? Why is that? In the Shariah, both is a sin, both are haram! True women may be of more fitnah towards men, because women have more awrah to cover, yet they fail to, but most men are naturally in hijab, hence the reason for lesser fitnah for women. The Polygamy allowed also speaks about helping widows or orphans, anyone who can clearly study the Quran can understand that. The Sahabah and Prophets mostly married older women who had children from other men who had died. If men want to follow the example of the Prophet, they should follow it in the way he practiced it. Wars were common, many women were left without homes or men to take care of them. Had Allah disapproved, we would suffer social issues. There are many many many men who are happy with one wife, who dare not think about other women. Even having a thought of a non-mahram while married is a huge sin, how can one approach the thought of Polygamy knowing this is wrong? We see here the clear reasons for Polygamy. Some claim their wife is too fat or too old so they want to get another wife? It's because women are too busy with children they don't have time to even think of getting another man. Though the arab world makes it look like women have no physical desires or feelings. The fact that society has suppressed this, is proof why they claim "Men are Polygamous by nature" I would like to see any type of proof from Islam that this is true? Men were more free to do whatever they pleased, this is the real reason, before Islam and after Islam. It's not a religious view, its a social view. We Muslims are taught to follow the Quran and refer to sunnah and hadeeth, if men want to remarry, then why dont they read the verse on polygamy and refer to the sunnah and hadeeth? There are clear hadeeths that our Prophet pbuh the sahabah remarried older women to help them and be noble men for the sake of allah subhanwaltala, not for sexual reasons as Scholars put it these days. Also when Hazrat Ali wanted to take a second wife for the reasons I put above, it made Hzt Fatima upset and Prophet pbuh forbade Hazrat Ali remarrying a second wife. So if anyone can show a claim from ISLAM that men are polygamous, I would like to see. Please don't bring sciencists' claims into this, because even they claim things that go against Islam.

We even expect them to swallow the injustice and further support the sinning brothers of the family. We are hypocrites that way. If needing several women was such a primal thing, nauzobillah, built-in by Allah, then why was Adam a.s created with one wife; Hawwa a.s? If it had been so natural, then Allah would´ve made it fardh. He would´ve created women without jealousy. It´s quite telling that the same men who advocate for several wives, cannot even give monthly zakaat to help fellow Muslims from war-stricken countries. They want to help widows nah? Then help doesn´t have to mean marrying an poor woman who is missing her dead husband dearly! What woman wants to be married with the pretext that a man is "taking pity" on her? And knowing that his first wife is secretly feeling like someone put an axe through her heart! If men´s hearts are dead, ours are not. They should FEAR ALLAH before presenting the Deen so falsely. No, this 4 wives allowance is a rule for war times only. Not for entertainment or building a personal harem!

Allah has given us a solution, the brothers that are financially able can marry up to four wives. Having said that it's not easy to share your husband. I know how it feels on both sides, I got married at 32, waited a long time for him to come. Alhamdulillah he is everything I made duah for, but he always tells me that us women are selfish. We are meant to love for others what we love for ourselves so if we were true believers we would understand the need of the men to marry more than one. I understand and comprehend all of it but at the same time jealousy overtakes and I want to be his one and only. And it doesn't help when most Muslim men around you prefer Western, non-Muslim (non-Christian) women and the rest choose a girl about 12 yrs younger, much less educated than him and from his country (chosen by mom). I know I'll get a lot of attacks for this and getting called bitter but that's ok as these ppl often don't understand life in West and don't care about what sisters think/feel deep down if it isn't what they want us to think. Even my blood brothers prefer the Western women and I feel far away from men and very very disappointed in Muslim men as I see them living haraam rather than even getting to know pious, practising, highly educated Muslimahs. I don't really believe in Muslim men being any better than the rest in these times. It's as if they prefer an experienced Western woman rather than a practising Muslim one. Maybe they find us boring and unapproachable? When it comes to them, they don't care about her past, her age or her not being interested in religion. All is acceptable. But with us, even when we are young, they just don't fancy Muslimahs. I think they feel that we're maybe too "pure" and not exciting material.

I've been looking for a husband for 2 years and it's really difficult to find a man with good character nowadays. And I've been living in the Netherlands for the past 4 years and the typical dutch men doesn't even approach a woman and marriage is not on their priority list. Here couples move in together first then they have children and when they already have like 3 children then they would consider getting married. So living here had made it more difficult for me to find a good man to marry. It's not easy but I am holding on and wait for the Lord to send me my husband.

I know a muslim woman who went the normal arrange marriage route as dating is prohibited. She got divorced within 2 months for no fault of hers by the guy. Guess he wanted to pass time. I feel so sad for this woman as she is my relative and I make dua for her. I urge others/ all readers to make dua for all muslim women to get married or remarried to good men, ameen.
