This is a different view of Digby from when I was there in 1988... Doing my basic in Cornwallis. Thanks for showing this.

We didn't get a chance to drive through the base this trip. It goes by pretty quick if you blink you can miss it. Upper Clements Park is closed now too which is too bad. We used to go there a lot when I was a kid.

I did my basic in 1977, drove thru Cornwallis when I was there a couple weeks ago.. some buildings are in sad shape now. During basic, I was able to get home on some weekends, would take the ferry from the old terminal in Digby

Just went across on the 4th , spent the night at the Seawinds Motel. Wanted to get a feed of scallops at Kalens takeout, but they are in the middle of relocating, so tried Ed's Takeout instead, food was good. Was planning to drive home the next day but the weather was bad, so we decided to take the ferry back home, Had a great time, think we will go again very soon! Love all your videos!

Lots of places to eat in town. The takeout places are really good too! I wasn't in the town long enough to do a foodie review of all of them. Just had time to go to the shoreline.
@albonnenfant39023 жыл бұрын
@@rivervidsyt Yes the Shoreline has fantastic food, I wanted to try a place where the locals go. Don't think it really matters where you eat scallops!

Bro! You are a wealth of knowledge! Your enthusiasm is infectious. I went through boot camp just up the road in Cornwallis 40 years ago. Man I feel old now. I spent 4 years at Base Gagetown and would venture down to SJ on occasion. Are you military? Getting strong vibes. Digby is such a amazing small town that punches way above it's weight. Reminds me of Saint Andrews in NB. I hope you another video of Digby at a slower pace for old people. Will probably take my bike for the Bike fest in late August. Are you from SJ? Assuming as you said you worked for BFL. I subbed to channel based on this one. Keep up the great work, Pal! Cheers

Heading here in Summer 2022 fingers crossed! What month do you think is best to visit Nova Scotia when it’s not too busy but everything is open? Love your videos especially your teaching the historical facts
@rivervidsyt3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I appreciate you watching them. Personally, I think the best time to visit is the summer time/early fall (July to October). By mid-October, it usually cools down quite a bit. I also enjoy the fall months when the leaves are changing. We usually get a fall hurricane or tropical storm that hits and takes down most of the leaves so there is only a short window to get to see the full beauty of it all. Also, if you're interested in whale watching, July is the best month although you can see them year-round. I hope you will enjoy your trip!

Have you noticed a board of jesus and his mother it's from Greece also this ship was made in Grecee and was the first ship of blue star ferries plus its original name that will live under its today's name must be said Its Blue Star Ithaki. A man that took a ride on this ship when it was on Greece
@rivervidsyt3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your insight on the history of the ship. It is nice to hear that someone who was on the ship while it was in Greece has seen the video. Where was the picture of Jesus and Mary located onboard? I do not remember seeing one and I have talked to members of the crew and they have not seen it either. Possibly it was covered up or removed after the sale.

Heated pools are great. I'm so spoiled. Born in Woodstock, NB live in NH and winter in South Florida. Our pool at the Florida condominium is about 88*f and people start to gripe if it gets colder. Me included! I remember Uncle Sid taking us to Mispec Beach. That Hotel is beautiful and I suspect it's pricy to stay there. The Algonquin Hotel in St. Andrews, NB is also beautiful. Your GF is beautiful. Don't lose her!
@rivervidsyt Жыл бұрын
Mispec is one of my favourite beaches because it's close to the city. It's very cold tho, but I don't mind it. I am hoping to make some videos up in the Woodstock area someday. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy the pool.
